Default Insight please!!

Sup everybody, im looking to buy either a used 03 or 04 Z. I'm just looking for some advice from actual Z owners. Is this a reliable car? What kind of problems should I expect? ANY info or insight I can get on this stuff or any secret tips would really be appreciated

Wow, so since I bought an 04 I'm a teenager? I guess I was into 300's too late for the elitism to be this bad... sounds like SVX owners in here.

To the OP, the top 100 thread is here - https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2008-n...questions.html

Personally, I made sure the previous owner had service records, did a carfax, and spent a lot of time reading up on them. The cars themselves have their little quirks, the 03 and 04 have a camber issue that should be corrected on any of them you go to buy now, but still worth looking into, the stereos have cut out issues, relating to either a ribbon cable or the sub/amp, and many owners seem to be unhappy with the radio in general, if you love great music, listen to a couple stock radios and figure out if you want to go with that, find one with an aftermarket system, or go with a stock unit and replace it yourself. There's been a lot of complaints about the original 6mt as well, bad syncro's rough shifts, etc. At 74k mine still shifts smoothly, but has the occasional first to second clunk. The fuel gauge not reading correctly is another common occurance, or so I'm told, none of the dozen or so I looked at had it, but, maybe I was just lucky. Overall they seem to be dependable cars, I haven't seen a lot of huge issues in my research, but perhaps some of the people that have been here for a long time would know. I love mine, it's been more fun in two weeks than any of the other cars I've had over the years, good luck and don't get discouraged, just keep looking and you'll find a good one out there.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like someone already gave you the link to the 100 questions.

Also have a look through the other subforums at the lower end of the main page, that will give you a feel as to what to expect.

There's really nothing I can add to the thousands of posts.

Main thing is to find one with as low mileage as you can find, that's in good mechanical shape, shifts smoothly, windows slightly lower and go immediately back up when the doors are shut.
