Default Dash voltmeter seems to be reading high?

Just took delivery of 2004 350 z auto, very low mileage -24k miles and car is pristine, only "issue" is that the voltmeter on the pod reads about 15 volts idling or at various speed levels. A voltmeter across the battery terminal agrees with the above reading. What should the voltage read assuming a normally charged battery?. Car starts immediately and headlights are not dim/yellow.

Sounds fine, 14.4-14.8 is the norm with the car is running. With the car off, it should be around 12.

BTW, congratulations on your car

High 14 to 15 volts is normal as stated above.

Can cooler weather affect voltage in any way? I ask because my car has always been just a tick past 14, now in the past few days when I first start up it has been higher, around 15.5, then as the car warms up it drops down to about 2 needle widths above 14.
It's also making the fans on my amp spin like crazy when I first start up.

Yeah, you need minimum of 12 volts to keep that battery charged then a little extra to run all the electronics in the car. That is how the charging system works.
