New Z owner from Southern Cali
Whats up everybody.. Just thought I'd introduce myself around here. My name is Evan, I am 19 and I live in Santa Clarita, CA. I have been checking out the site for a little bit now, but haven't really posted much yet. Anyways, sold my 400rwhp mustang about 2 weeks ago and ended up with this Z last thursday. Its an 04.5 Touring with a 6 speed tranny. The only mods are tokico blue shocks, tein s-tech springs, and the rims. I have been thinking about changing the rims, but the gold is some what growing on me.. Let me know what you guys think.
Old ride.. She will be missed
Only pictures I have of the Z so far:

Sure, stroked it out to a 347, AFR 185 heads, custom ground cam, systemax 2 intake, long tube headers, etc...Those are most of the go fast parts, but just about everything was replaced as far as the engine and drivetrain go.

Nice Z... And welcome!!!! I suggest putting 25mm spacers all around and trust me, the rims will grow on you a lot more.. I have the same rims but in gunmetal, and was thinking of getting rid of them, then I put 25mm spacers all around and I decided to keep the rims...

Thanks for the compliments and advice guys. I have been looking at spacers, so maybe I will go with those before I decide to get rid of the rims and see how it looks to me.
I did all the engine work, bought a shortblock and installed everything else myself. I got it tuned at Swanson Performance here in California. The only dyno I have is with much lower flowing heads on the car, a more restrictive intake, and the first cam that was in the car which didn't match up well with the rest of my top end. Still not bad power for a mismatched cam/head/intake combo.. I thought I had a scan of the newer dyno before I sent it out with the car, but I don't, so this is all I have:
I sold the vehicle because it was not compliant with california smog laws. I had gotten pulled over for having too loud of exhaust and the officer asked me to pop the hood. He gave me a citation and told me I had to take the vehicle to a center here where they go through the engine and make sure it is California legal. If I wanted to make it legal, I would have pretty much had to tear down the engine and replace the heads, intake, cam, exhaust.. It would have been something that cost a lot of money and I didn't want to do, so I sold the vehicle out of state and bought a Z.
And yes, it is the Z that you posted a link to.
Sorry for typing a short essay, but you asked.
Who did the work? Dyno sheet? Why did you get rid of a "400WHP" Mustang to get this?

Haha, thanks guys. I'm sure you get a lot of bs on here, so I don't mind telling my story.. I know it seems weird going from a 400hp mustang to a z.
Any opinions on the rim color?

Honestly though, I was more curious as to how a 19 year old hand built a 400 HP Mustang, most look over someones shoulder as someone else built it, and then claim "they built" their car. We get alot of young punk $hitheads here, so many are skeptical.

Yea, I understand.. I got that question a lot when I owned the car. It was my first time ever working on an engine like that and it was a great learning experience.. I wish I knew as much about the z engine as I did about that thing..

Yea, I love the 5.0 motor.. Easy to work on and pretty cheap to make big power out of. I wish I could have kept it, but like you said, smog laws are nuts. I had my ways to make the car pass smog, but I had no chance of it being passed as legal at an inspection center..
