No Z, but VQ35DE!
Hey all - I'm an FX ownder and here on my350Z for VQ35DE ideas and experience. I'm pretty well modified for NA, but aiming for FI and preparing each system in turn. Just need to get my post count up so I can put out classified wanted threads!
Looking for the z33 style ARC oil catch, used. Here's my current Engine bay:

Trust me - I know!!! I never thought I'd be modding this car, but I'm having a blast with it.
It handles much better than it did stock - but it's just never going to be track competition worthy. Even with my mods, the center of gravity is too high and there is body roll during hard cornering. It's perfect for the street though - even when I'm being aggressive, I've never bumped up against the steering limits (unless I'm trying). There is a bit of oversteer, but again at higher cornering speeds - not something I normally do.
A couple top tier FX owners have really put some R&D into coilover development, but there's nothing currently available. The Eibach springs lowered me by 1.5 inches and the suspension bracing definitely improved cornering and gave a much more, "planted" feel with less body roll. I'm aware of one or two FXs out there that have lowered with aftermarket springs, then cut a half coil to get lower. Also, modifications to the shocks - cutting and re-welding the attachment bracket higher to get another bit of drop.
The FX is a great compromise for getting a bit of performance tuning with a full size car. I love driving it every day, and much more since I started modding.

Turbo kits are where it's at though - I've got the JWT TT in my sights - they put out an FX specific version.
Yah mon - I'm a newbie on here. I actually joined after you found that ARC oil catch for sale, but I haven't had much luck.
Good thing too, cuz as of today I'm thinking about going with the 42 draft oil catch design, possibly modified to accept two inlets and one outlet. But if the ARC pops up used for a decent price... I'm back on the bandwagon.

Im still interested in the Oil catch so much like you are waiting on me for the HFCs, I'm waiting on you for you finalization fo the oil catch
also....shhhh i have a surpise coming up....samco hoses but not in just any color
Oil catch still in work. I like the look of the 42 draft, but the Saikou is customizable, even down to accepting stock diameter hoses with no extra fittings. The 42 draft is sexier, but doesn't have the dual inlet option and is twice as expensive. Still not there.
Cooo - your "secret" is safe with me. Doing the hoses was fun. Plan on flushing the radiator entirely if it hasn't been done in a while. Also, don't plan on using your OEM clamps - get new ones. The OEM don't quite fit over the slightly thicker Samco multilayer silicone hoses.
Thread revival!!!
Recently installed a custom oil catch, working directly with Saikou Michi Co. I had the fittings rotated for application specific mounting and it came out really nice. Here's the design drawing:

And here's the install in my bay:

Here's the suction line. The lower plenum suction line was capped - this design works exactly like the ARC you may have seen out there.
