08 350z new driver!
Guys relax, some of you make yourselves look so foolish trying to admonish a kid for his choices, any mature person would understand that the best way to learn and evolve through life is to make choices for yourself and learn from them directly- whether they are considered good or bad. If the kid made a bad choice it's for him to learn on his own, not for you to get angry at him out of resentment, spite, or any other reason- and if it's what he wants who are you to tell him how he ought to live his life?
Seriously, you guys come in a thread to condemn a kid for his choices, and yet it's only you that come off looking foolish and immature in the end. No amount of projecting your burdens onto this kid will make your lives any easier or less difficult, give it up, I understand that not all of us had things given to us growing up but that's not a reason to hold contempt towards anyone else.

And all these years I thought it was smart of me to learn from the mistakes of my big brother. I should have been doing drugs, getting DUIs and getting arrested like he did. But noooooo, I had to see all the pain that he and my parents went through and decide to stay out of trouble.
You might be on to something. Maybe we are all wrong. Maybe there is no value in learning from the mistakes of others. I guess everyone should go out and do stupid things on their own, risk their own lives and waste their own money.

you're making the mistake of believing that there's only one way to learn- youmay have learned from your bro, as many of us do, but others might need the direct experience and who are you to say which is more valuable or effective? What works in your life is not necessarily the universal remedy. There are thousands of books and movies out there that provide decent examples of how one ought to live a successful and meaningful life, they don't mean a thing to someone who hasn't experienced life or known what it means to live yet- and you don't get that from a book, TV, show or even a family member, you get it from actually living your life and learning from your own mistakes. That's not the only truth, but for some it's very true.
No actually just saying hello and not adding to your douchebaggery. Was that a nice enough comment for ya zippy?!
Not everyone feels the need to flame people on here, saw the pics and the car. Nice platform to start with so I congratulated him especially since its an upgrade from his last vehicle.
Next time you want to fix one of my quotes just remember that "I dont go to your work and knock the dicks out of your mouth while your on the clock" afford me the same respect.

You are making the mistake of thinking your examples and what we are saying are similar references. You are talking about the life experiences gained from doing things like taking a year off of school to go back packing across Europe. I am talking about experiences like me blowing $15,000 of my inheritance on a used 300ZX when all my cousins used the money to put down on a house. What life experiences did I gain from buying that car? I wish someone had sat me down and told me what a stupid decision I was about to make. Needless to say, I was living in a shitty apartment while everyone else was in a house.

My original statement holds true, all the bragging in the world doesn't help these kids because at the end of the day, the thing that defines their life (the car) is something everyone else owns as a fun toy. They should just learn to keep it to coming here to learn more about the cars and talk to other enthusiasts and not come here to brag that they managed to get themselves a sports car, as if everyone else in the country can't do the same if they want to.
Sort of. Honestly the point that I am getting at is that paying a bill isn't honorable in any way, it's just what you're supposed to do. You don't need congrats for it, you're supposed to do it anyway. It's like bragging that you aren't in jail.
About as much as if I had touched a hot skillet on the stove. Do people really need to learn on their own that hot items burn?
Bottom line is that no one is trying to give advice. Many here just think it is stupid to live at home with your mommy when you are a grown man because all your income is being spent on a brand new sports car. I am not sure how anyone can see it different.

Why can't more people have this attitude? Live and let live. Some of you get so bent out of shape over parents buying their kid a car and I just don't get it. Relax...
how is that owned? I jokingly called him out on his money grab, his response wasn't even witty or funny. just a rational explanation for what he was doing.
he has the added pressure of acting proper as a vendor, so I get to be a douchebag, and he has to remain relatively civil. is good times.
