Cool Finally Bought a Z

I've been lurking for a long time and finally came across the right car at the right time. At least I hope it is. I just bought the car today and drove 5 hours for it. While tearing the car apart I figured out why all the interior panels seemed to be fairly loose and a lot of tabs missing. I found a used syringe under the spare tire haha. I think the car was owned by a drug dealer at some point or a druggie and was completely torn apart by the cops looks for drugs. Unfortunately I have a crap load of interior parts to replace. It also needs a new bumper and right front fender in the future due to a terrible job of attempting to repaint a few spots on them and repairing a crack. Additionally I have some electrical issues with the instrument panel. My turn signal indicators and my headlight indicator don't show up inside. My gas guage isn't very accurate either; when I filled it up to the top at the gas station it read as 3/4 full. Also the heat is either max or nothing, no in between, and my passenger seat doesn't move but I found a few unplugged wires so I'm hoping that's it. Overall I think it was a pretty good deal at 91,000 miles for $8,600. I'm really looking forward to putting the car back together properly, and it seems like a really fun car. Sorry for the long read to those that actually read it all haha. If anyone has any ideas as to what to with electrical problems, I'd love for you to point me in the right direction. Thanks

The gas guage thing is the fuel sensor in your tank. Your dealer can fix that. it's common with 04 and 05 Z's. Mine was fixed for freeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome. Good looking Z. Nice seats.

Electrical problems are far from my favorite. I would rather have a root canal than troubleshoot electrical problems.

That said, take your time. You will figure it out.

Good luck. I personally think you paid too much considering all the work it needs, but enjoy it either way.

I probably made it sound a lot worse than it is. The only real costly issue is going to be the bumper and a fender if i want. The bumper I was planning on changing to something mildly aggressive anyway. Is there a good site any one would recommend for interior pieces for a good price? Or would classifieds be the best bet?

Yup, those look like drug dealer seats.

Seriously though, they are quite cool.

How much do you expect to spend fixing it up?

take the car apart and you'll probably find enough drugs and $$ to fix your car up pretty nicely

I'd be impressed if i spent more than $75 on interior bits and pieces. Probably only $30 worth. The bumper will probably figure $500. Fender, maybe $150? I think the electronic issue is something that is just unplugged. So really not a whole lot at all for the price and miles.
