Talking Finally a Z33 owner

I use to own a modded G35 coupe with 3.9 FD, Nismo LSD, Nismo Cams, Headers, exhaust, spacer, and a UPRev tune. I had the car from 2005-2009 and I kinda got bored of it (mostly because it was a 5AT) so I sold it and went with a beater for a while. The beater sucked & I went car shopping again. I test drove a few 03-05 350z's, 2 07 350Z's, and 2 E46 M3's. Once I drove the 350Z HR the earlier DE cars were not considered and I didnt want a high mileage M3 so I went with the 350Z HR.

Man I love HR motor. Although, its not as torquey as my cammed 03 G coupe or the E46 M3 the power doesnt dive after 6500 rpm like my old car & it pulls much harder to redline (from 5000 rpm) than my 260whp cammed coupe. My only gripe with the powertrain is that the heavy flywheel doesnt like low rpm takeoffs & the flywheel seems to chatter a bit.

I cant wait until the next track day so I can run down the 1/4. I'll attach pics when I get home. I'm posting from work.

Thanks. I love driving this car. I put 700miles on it this week

My plans for this car are pretty simple: LT Headers, exhaust, Tomei 272 cams, ported heads, a tune, LSD (I'll go for something less aggressive this time), and some minor suspension & brake mods. I want to have a mid 12sec car that looks stock that I can take to an HPDE several times a year.

Just curious how many rpms do you guys use take off from a dead stop? In my previous cars I would use 800-900rpms w/o any problems but this car doesn't like that for some reason & I don't want to slip the clutch from light to light!

I like to rev it to about 4500 and dump the clutch at every light.

j/k

I dunno man, I never actually noticed where I rev to before engaging the clutch......not far beyond 1000 rpm though.

Headers aren't worth much on the HR by the way, save your money.
