I'm sure the lights were parted out, I would have done the same prior to selling my Z.

 

Yeah I didn't even know there was difference between the year's headlights. Its not a fake 08 350z , but it was bought by the dealership at an auction. Any thoughts on why it has those lights?

 

Usually parting out involves selling parts you added or don't need anymore. I mean, seriously, headlights? That is weak.

I hope the OP got a serious discount for that. Nothing like taking out the nice factory HIDs and tossing in older housings. I wouldn't have bought it, but that is me.

 

Considering I much I paid for a set to upgrade I would have done the same to downgrade.

 

so I shouldn't by a z because of the headlights? ok buddy .It was a great deal and I honestly could care less about having the HID lights, though it doesn kinda of **** me off its no reason to regret the car buy

 

How much would it cost to replace them with the original ones? and just in case what other parts could of been swapped?I realize now I should of done this before but it's a little to late for that

 

I just paid $1180 for a brand new extra set. But that was from a guy who gets the hook up. Brand new from Nissan you're looking at about $1500-$1700.

If headlights are a deal breaker on a car, then there is something wrong. I like the lines of the car regardless of the headlights. But I do like the Bi-Xenons better only cause of the light output. But it wouldn't have made my decision any different when buying it.

You can find them on the forum for a little over $1K in good condition.

New on ebay and other places is $1,200 to $1,300 max

 

Well I am sure that there was only one Z for sale in your area.

If it doesn't bother you, that is fine. That is why I said "BUT THAT IS JUST ME".........indicating that if I were the one looking at a 08 Z and the previous owner ripped the nicer headlights off and replaced them with inferior units, I would not have purchased the car. Lord knows what else was sold or molested.

But since it was your choice to make, that is fine. Sorry to hear that other people's opinions bother you so much.

EDIT - seeing as how the price for the 06+ headlights seems to be around 1000 bucks, I would have given them 1000 bucks less than the best offer they gave me (unless the headlights were already factored into that price). What did you trade in?

I realize that is your opinion. Actually yes it was the only hr z within 500 miles with super low miles.What else would of been sold? Your opinion didn't bother me it just made too much emphasis on headlights. I mean I just bought a z and all you care about are the headlights haha

 

I would ask for a carfax as well. Who knows if this thing was in a wreck and they just replaced the pieces with cheaper parts. Check for Vin numbers on your parts to make sure they match. If they don't then more than likely it was a wreck. Little things like, Windshield wiper reservoir, horns, etc that are often over looked when repairing a car.

 

and I traded in a 03 accord v6 ha and got around 7k for it. Now you got me all worried they did like an engine swap on it haha . I looked in it and it was for sure the hr z with the duel intake but you made me paranoid haha thx
