Ok here is the deal. I got my z about 2 months ago and love it but want more power. I installed a nismo cold air. I got a skunk2 plenum spacer and this is where I need help. I put in the spacer and the car ran good no problems with idle or anything. I parked the car for a couple hours, now it still idles and revs up fine but has no power under load it won't even redline in 1st gear.

So I took the spacer off and put the car back to the way it was and still no change. I took it to the dealer and $250 later they don't know whats up with it they just said its running lean.

Sounds like a BIG leak.

Did you touch the throttle body plate in any way?

Did you unplug the MAF sensor? Did you make sure the MAF sensor is facing the right direction?

Did you disconnect the battery when doing the work?

 

I did take the throttle body off the car thats what the paper work said to do. did unplug MAF and yes its plugged back in the correct way. I didn't disconect the batt. while I worked on the car at first but I have done it through out the day trying to trobleshoot the hole thing. I just noticed that my cruise control isn't working. the cruise light comes on and when i try to set it the set light flashes. Now what do you think

 

ok i found the prob after market tail lights will jack your car up.

I'm surprised you didn't throw a CEL though. Since the dealership doesn't know what all you did, they probably did check or try any of the throttle related diags.

Since CC works off the throttle position, etc. if that's off, then CC may not work.

 

I know it sound crazy and i would have never belived it if it happend to someone else. I put the plenum spacer in and it throw a ses code but thats because I forgot to hook up the mass air. I have a scanner so i hooked it up and cleared the code. The ran good. About an hour after the motor was done i put the after market lihts on the back that i got of ebay and drove the z. the throttle got stupid after that. I took the car to the dealer they didn't know what it was there planning on replaceing all the gaskits i messed with. I came home did some more looking online and saw that tail lights can cause a problem with the cruise control so I put two and two together and wala. I put the stock light back and now she is back to her old self.

 

we're these cheap LED tail lights?

I though I recall reading something about the cheap ones not have the proper resistance which causes the computer the think the brakes are applied so CC won't engage.
