Question New 2007 350Z GT Owner / Hands Free Issue

I wanted to introduce myself and ask a question. I purchased a 2007 Nissan 350Z Grand Touring (pics soon) this past weekend after drooling over my friend's 2009 370Z. I am very happy with the purchase and look forward to enjoying this vehicle for many years to come.

Everything works great... EXCEPT when my iPhone 3GS receives a call, the car's hands free Bluetooth doesn't audibly ring. It shows "phone" on the (Bose) stereo display and I can answer the call, talk, and disconnect the call without issues. It just won't ring. I setup a ringtone when pairing the phone but it never rings in the car when a call comes in.

I hope to learn a lot here and look forward to future discussions and any assistance with my hands free issue. I figured I'd use this as my "hey, I'm a newb" post and see if anyone has any suggestions. Otherwise, I'll delete the phone from the car and re-pair it to see if that corrects the issue.

Thanks in advance!

Jeff

you would have to contact nissan and see if there a update for your nav/bose system. For example the deck that ive had sense 2007 wouldnt charge my 3g and now my iphone 4 the iphone says this is basicely aint going to give best quality and something else and so on so on but i can still get my music to play but not the full quality i think.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't think about seeing if there is a firmware update for the head unit. I'll look into that!

Thanks again!

Default Pics and Mod Updates

I'm very new to the game but am excited about getting to know the car better, the community, and to see some creative mods and to learn from vetted members who aren't afraid to share some knowledge to a "newb" (a title I'm not too proud to sport at this point in the game).

About the new woman in my life - She's a 2007 Nissan 350Z Grand Touring. I bought her with 22,900 miles a little over a week ago. We're at 24,400 (Austin, TX -> Dallas, TX (read Jotech Racing for a visit w/Kenny and Tony) -> Texarkana, TX -> Dallas, TX (read Jotech Racing for a visit w/Kenny and Tony, Cars and Coffee, and the RPM Event this past Saturday) -> Texarkana, TX) now... So, I drive her a little... That's ok, right?! She has more options than what I was expecting to be able to get in the price range I was looking in so that's always a plus for a car you weren't even needing or expecting to get!

I've installed Nismo dual CAI, Stillen high flow cats, GReddy Ti-C true dual exhaust alongside a modest drop on Tien-S springs. She handles beautifuly, sounds great, and is peppy enough for a, more or less, stock car.

Some photos I took on my iPhone (...haven't setup an "official" Jeff Cross Photography photoshoot* with her yet...) are posted below.

I'm very happy with the car and she's a joy to drive. I look forward to learning a lot here and hope to be able to contribute to the community in time as my knowledge continues to grow.

Again, thank you for allowing "newbs" like myself to come here and learn. I have a few questions that I will post some threads on so I look forward to tapping into the experience available from the 350/370 guys here on the forums.

Jeff Cross

*A shot I took of my friend's 370Z (pre-GReddy TT install). Hopefully, I'll be able to get the lights out and the camera soon to get something like this of my car. This is the car that turned me on to the Z community and cars...

Thanks for the comments, all! I am really enjoying the car! And, with the minor mods I have made so far, I am very happy with the performance and handling! She handles like an extension of myself. Bad moods in this car directly affect her performance! Haha!!! When you feel good, she feels good and performs accordingly! Hop in the ride when you're on your A game and she'll keep you there, for sure!

Loving my Z and look forward to the community and learning I hope to receive here!

The ringtone is an option, the previous user probably turned it off. The ringer is really annoying because it always ends up being loud as f*ck and surprises the sh*t out of you when someone calls. Just go into setup and navigate the menus until you find the option to turn on the ringer

I'm trying to keep her in the garage as much as possible, which is hard to do, so I don't have 380,964 miles on her before December!!! It's just so fun to drive!

Well, I found something in the Bose setup for AUDIOP that was off. I turned it on and it still doesn't ring audibly when a call comes in. Basically, my queue is that the stereo muted. So, no more rolling around with no tunes so I can hear the exhaust... Gotta have the stereo on at some level so I can tell it turns off...

EDIT: And, after some further research on the "AUDIOP" setting, it has nothing to do with the bluetooth ring... Well, it was off, I turned it on, and nothing new... But, that would explain it! :P

Any idea how you enable the audible ring if it has indeed been turned off?
