Default 350z cons were exaggerated!

I just picked up my first 350z a couple days ago.

I was a bit skeptic at first due to so many complaints regarding several
flawes in the design of the car.

Rearview mirror - it's small but you can still see, took me no longer than 1 day to get used to it.

Road noise - That's part of the sports car deal, if cruising peacefully is what you're looking for, this isn't your car. It's not an ideal road trip car, as road noise might get tiring, but then again a 2 door car isn't a road trip car.
In my touring model, they have bose speakers for those that find road noise unbearable and prefer music.

Bose Speakers - Maybe it's just me because I can't tell the difference, but I'm not much of a "blast the speakers" kind of guy, they sound great, or at least good enough to satisfy someone on a budget.

Trunk - I'm actually suprised how big it actually is. I heard it was microscopic and in my opinion it's just fine for school, soccer practice.

The only thing I'm a little paranoid about, is the antenna. I feel it's a bit extended and it will snap, or someone can just snap it out of malicious intent.

Pictures are one thing, but to see it and drive it in person is another.

NO REGRETS.

Have to agree with you op, i think the Bose speakers can't be THAT BAD. I mean i have the non-bose version, and it is more than enough for me and i sometimes blast my music just loud enough to get my grooves on in the car haha...

Road noise... It's there, but doesn't bother me...

What bothers me though, is that whenever i drive thru rocks, gravel, etc, the fender will clunk like there is no tomorrow... It makes me cringe every time that happens because it paints a picture in my mind that the gravels are hitting my sideskirts and chipping away paint :S

oh, and for anyone that knows:

what is it exactly that they put in other cars that eliminates those clunking noises i mentioned above when i go thru gravel? i mean the Z has a plastic fender well, shouldnt that eliminate the noise already?

most of the owners that have issues with the Z car are white rich snobby folks that read road & track way too much...

Rear mirror. Same for me. Just need to know how to use them effectively.

Road noise for me was due to stock tires. Notorious for being loud especially with low tread. I really like road trips in the Z after changing to Hankook Ventus V12s.

Trunk space I agree isn't bad just can't fit big luggages. Plenty of space for many smaller ones though.

S2000 antenna. Done.

Thanks for the tip on the antenna guys, looks so much better. That other antenna looks pre-historic.
Good for you Slammed, it's worth it trust me. There's nothing sweeter than working hard and paying for the 350z, that is unless you're getting it as a gift.

"white rich" lol, there seem to be a lot of those here on forums that just randomly attack the younger community as if it's a bad thing to work hard to pay for school and a 350z.

It can get a bit bumpy, there are times where I turn off the music to listen to see if I got a flat tire or something..and this is from a place where the roads are kept in excellent condition. It's usually when you're traveling 15-30 miles per hour, when you go faster you hardly feel it.
No idea Shawz maybe you can let me know if you find out, but truthfully it's not that big of a deal, but it can scare a new driver to the 350z who's not used to it.
The bose speakers are great, I think when you BLAST the bose speakers to full volume, which is a ticket where I live, it sounds a bit scratchy..but jeez, as if the 350z doesn't draw enough attention

Cool.. none of your concerns were ever mine. Though none of them have ever been a problem for me. The attenna can probably be in a tornado and it will be fine.

I got my 2004 brand new and grew to hate it. I hope you like it and don't regret owning it like I did.

If you have a touring which is what I have...it's comfortable enough, but NOT luxurious, especially with that interior.

Had mine for 1 summer so far now it's stored for the winter. I really enjoyed my summer with it and am anxious to take it out again. As for the trunk it's big enough to carry my golf bag.

z's are great cars, anyway in stead of s2000 antenna i would go with the dodge avenger, it fits better and has the same radio quality. also it is around $5 instead of $30

Yeah bro I'm not one of those people that find it unbearable, I truly enjoy it but if you want to listen to music it's nice to have bose speakers.
