Default My First Z, but like my 100th VQ35, lol.

Hey guys, i'm originally from NYC, i've been a member on here for like 5 years it shows, and never posted. I'm a member of a bunch of Maxima websites, even moderated a few. I was probably on here looking for pistons, rods, EUs, cams, oil pumps, etc for my clients with much success. Lots of cool people on here. I've been building and repairing the VQ35 but on the FWD platform. (Maximas mainly). I messed with a few Gs and Zs over time though. I moved down to West Palm Beach, FL, currently an ASE and BMW Master Tech, and picked up my first 350z. 2006 Base model. (Fix German, drive JAP) I was able to knock off a considerable amount of money off the price because of the aftermarket bumper cutout, intake, exhaust, and springs, and wheels. But here she is:

They let me actually throw the car up on a lift and inspect it before I bought it. I noticed a few things about it I kinda had to look up. Curious about the quality of these parts. Maybe you guys can help with that.

It has (what appears to be) Megan Racing headers, Megan Racing Test Pipes. Then the previous owner looks like before he traded it in, he just threw on stock catback exhaust with no exhaust gaskets (exhaust leaks at every connection). Even the left side flex section of the y pipe is leaking. I ordered a $85 Y pipe and OEM exhaust gaskets from ebay for now to quiet it up.

Looks like Tanabe GF210 Lowering springs, and they welded the front camber adjustment nut, so it's locked in place. I checked it on an alignment rack, and camber matches the drop it has, so its fine for now, but I really like my cars low, esp in FL now. No accidents either, body lines look good.

K&N Typhoon air induction system I think?

And that's all I found for now. Oh and these wheels with no friggin TPM sensors in them.

This is the car I left back home in NYC garaged and covered: Supercharged @ 12psi, EU & J&S Safeguard, Nitrous Fed, Air suspension, and JIC Coilover interchangeability (Made easily interchangeable for show and/or go), big brake kit and a fully built VQ35 on an engine stand I had no time to install before moving down here.

And this was my daily driver, 1995 Nissan Maxima GXE, bought it for $700, removed the blown VQ30, installed a VQ35DE from a Nissan Quest, and converted it to 5spd from Auto:

And my bike, which I did bring down here....2009 Triumph Daytona 675:

Nice cars and I really like the bike. As far as the quality of the parts, my friend has megan reacing headers on his 240 and they are terrible. All the pipes are different lengths and the welds dont look that great. i dont know how they are for the 350. Deff get catback tho. Interested to hear what your plans for the car are.

congrats on your purchase. Ive read that megan test pipes and headers are prone to crack and have bad fitment, but I've never confirned this myself. I would wait until they go bad to replace them. As for the missing gaskets, autozone keeps them in stock, but I would spend the $ on a different exhuast vs buying oem parts.

Your supercharged maxima looks hawt and probably the sickest one ive ever seen
Do you have any more pictures of her? Your 350z looks clean aswell.

Congrats on the car and good luck with it. I had a 98 Maxima with a VQ35 before the Z as well. I remember seeing your car on Maxima.org a bunch of times. Cant go wrong with the VQ series.
