Welcome to the forum. While you didn't get the HR motor that comes in '07 and '08 Zs, you did get the rev up motor in your 2006 Grand Touring model if it has the 6MT. I have a 2006 GT 6MT in Silverstone. That engine and tune produces 300 hp and redlines at 7000 rpms. If you have the automatic transmission you only have the 287 hp engine and tune with the lower redline.
As for the oil consumption issue it appears to have been a low incidence event and it would have shown up long ago. Of course, maybe it did showed up for a previous owner, so just keep an eye on the dipstick and you should be able to tell within a couple of thousand miles if there is going to be a problem.
