New Z Owner in Raleigh, NC
Hello all,
I just purchased my Z 5 day's ago at Carmax in Raleigh. The over all experience was alright considering this was my first ever car purchase at a dealership. It did, however, take over 4hours to complete the sale. I had it delivered from VA. for a small transfer fee. They said it would take 14days to get to me from VA! It only took 6! I test drove it and immediately started the paperwork at 6pm. After a few financing snafu's at 10:30pm I FINALLY drove away in my new car!!
They even gave me $500 for my busted '95 accord with brake/transmission/destroyed body problems (not caused by me BTW )! Even after I had stripped out my aftermarket radio and subs. Now I am on the lookout for a cheap custom subbox for 2x12"s because my old one definitely will NOT fit haha!
This is the first RWD car I have ever owned but not driven. This is the first car I have ever financed/paid over $2000 for. So I am pretty excited!
Any comments/suggestions for a newb/rookie Z owner are more than welcome and I look forward to meeting some of you in Raleigh eventually.

Congrats. I did the same as well, but backwards. I had a car delivered from NC to Virginia. I was told 14 days as well, but had it in two. I dont like Carmax's prices - generally $1,500 to $2,000 higher than a normal dealership, but they were the only ones that had a 2008 Nismo that I really liked.
Enjoy your Z.

Yeah I was hoping they would do a free transfer considering there was a newer model in VA beach... not to far from dulles where mine was... and that one was free! C'mon now.
I don't really like carmax's prices either but I got this one about $1000 below book so I added on their "MAXCARE" up to 125k as a "just in case" I blow my engine hahaha!

I looked around but the only place that would give me financing with my "less than perfect" credit, and with a decent interest rate... was Carmax unfortunately. Plus my car was on its way out and I needed it quick!

@Bmurray350z I saw that one on ebay. In their picture it looked as tho it sat on top of the factory carpet and took up a lot of trunk space. Does this one fit in the spare tire bay? Because that would be ideal so I could keep some of that precious trunk space hahaha. Otherwise I want to put a box front facing under the strut bar.
I've just gotten so used to my double bandpass box I don't wanna go sealed haha!

Finally got the installation kit and put in my old head unit today. I will purchase a new one eventually. The kit from crutchfield fits perfectly with no modifications. Love it! Stock speakers gotta go tho haha. Pics coming soon. Gotta wash that beast first.
