Default New to the Z world

Hey everyone,

I bought my '03 touring just over a month ago and so far I'm loving every minute of it. I'm coming from a turbo Integra so obviously as far as acceleration goes it was a downgrade but in every other aspect, it was an upgrade.

This is also my first post on my350z.com. I chose my350z.com instead of the other Z forums because while I was researching the Z I found that the vast majority of the most useful posts came from this forum. It seems that the more knowledgable Z owners are on this forum so I figured this is the forum I wanted to be a member of. Don't prove me wrong guys!

It's a bone stock Silverstone with the 18" OEM rims. Not really worth posting a picture imo but I plan on doing a few things to do it next summer.

It would take a long time to enumerate everything but it was a turbo setup running 230whp on stock internals. Nothing crazy as far as power goes but as light as the car was, it hauled ***, trust me. Also had full coilover suspenion, strut bars front and back, sways front and back, subframe brace, LCAs, upgraded brake booster, SS brake lines, Recaro seats and some other good stuff... To keep the list short enough.

Welcome to the forum. You'll probably find once you get used to the Z, that the power delivery is very linea (being a reasonable size NA), or it should be. So you look at the speedo, and think oops that was quick, time to slow down.

Take it to the track, see what it will do.

Ya that is one thing I definitely noticed and love about the Z, it has a very linear power band and contrary to my teg, the power is virtually instantaneous as opposed to having major lag and then all the power kicking in like a massive shot of NOS, lol. I also like the shift shock the Z has, when you shift hard you get the impression the car's got so much power and that each shift is a mini launch where as the teg you practically had to powershift in order not to fall out of boost somewhat.

Then of course there's the sound... Even stock this car has a beautiful sound but when I put the Nismo exhaust on next summer it's gonna be just ridiculous. Accompanying the exhaust will be Berk HFCs, JWT Popcharger filter and a Motordyne plenum spacer.
