Hi everyone,

I actually got my Z about 7 months ago and just recently found this forum and decided to join. My Z is 2003 and i bought its used with 98k miles and in great condition for $10k out the door. The previous owned mentioned he replaced the clutch, and bumper right before i bought it and was stoked. Besides the timing belts being have to change once i hit 100k miles on it and some small key marks and small dents, i couldn't be happier and just love the car to death. Hope to see you all around the forums

It is my understanding that the timing chain never needs to be serviced. But then again, I'm still new here. Is this correct?

well im new too but i know its a belt. You can tell because once you pop the hood, right in the front dead center its this rubber thing and when you look closely, if its ruff and the lines are kinda worn, they need to be changed where as if its smooth and the lines are fine you don't need to worry about it

you should be fine with leaving the timing chain alone unless there's a noticeable problem with it like rattling. i would keep an eye on the belts and the tensioner.

Changing the belts is not that hard, definitely do it once you notice the belt is starting to crack or tear. Im sure there is a diy in the tech forum
