Default "New" 2007 Touring Roadster Owners in Georgia!

Hello All,

We took the plunge today and purchased a 2007 Pearl White w/ Black leather Automatic Touring Roadster here in Alpharetta, GA. I took a quick photo of the car after she got her "welcome home" dishwash soap bath followed by a claybar and Meguiars Red treatment. Please pardon the quality of the photo...more to come soon!

We were looking at three vehicles:
  • 2005 Corvette Auto w/ 36k
  • 2003 Porsche Boxster 5 speed w/ 36k
  • 2007 350z Roadster Auto w/ 68k

While I was really pushing for the Boxster, my wife wasn't thrilled about the manual tranny so we opted out of that one. The Vette was really nice with just 36k miles on it but the price was $7k more than the 350z. Bottom line...Mrs. Sothpaw is ecstatic with our choice of the 350z as this will be her daily driver. And that's all that really matters because if the wife is happy, SO AM I

I previously owned a C5 Corvette and participated on the corvetteforum website quite a bit. I also had a 1997 Miata up until last year and spent some time on that forum as well. Looking forward to hanging out with everyone here and sharing our Z experiences!!

Thanks for all of the GREAT advice!!

Beautiful ZR. I bought my wife one (2007, triple black, grand touring) 2 years ago as well, and we broke up 18 months later so now I'm selling it. Good luck!

I paid $19.2 for the car but also traded in a '07 Infiniti M35 with extensive carfax report damage for $15k. Considering the fact that I got nearly $4k in diminished value from the insurance company on the M35 accident, this deal was virtually a straight up trade.

I'll wave to you as we pass by on 75 headed for FL!

Thanks,

Thanks JC...she already looks great but she'll definitely get additional attention in the Z. Heck, I'd step on the gas pedal of my SUV to sneak a peek at her

Where do you live in GA?

This forum is going to be fun!

Default Just an opinion..

I looked pretty hard at the C6 also before I bought my 08 Touring new in 08. Without reviving old threads as to which one is better..would love to hear why you decided on the Z compared to it.

Hey Josh,

Looks like the state of Georgia is well represented on the forum. Where are you from? How are the local 350z clubs in GA?

Deal,

Choosing between the 350z Roadster and the C6 Corvette Coupe was a tough decision but these factors led to the purchase of the Roadster:

1. The C6 was a 2005, which was the first year of the C6 model. The particular car I was considering was an early build that year and there have been numerous issues on those early units with rear differentials as well as steering column locks. It may have been trouble free of these issues but those potential problems were definitely on my mind.

2. The Corvette was about $6k more than the 350z and upon comparing the performance, features and consumer reviews, I felt the Z was a much better buy than the Vette.

3. We've owned a couple of Vettes already and while I had a beautiful 1983 Datsun 280zx back in the mid 80's, my wife has always wanted a Z so that made it an easy decision as well.

What prompted your decision to go with the 350z?

Although I'm fairly new to Z's myself, I've learned a lot here. You're inquisitive, so you'll fit right in!
There's a nicely sized amount of south eastern Z owners here, but it seems as if the majority is from the west coast (which is understandable).
I live in Peachtree City, which is about 15-20 minutes south of Atlanta. How about you?

I'm not sure about clubs, like I said, I'm fairly new to Z's myself, having only owned mine for about a year. However, there are several weekly/monthly car meets at various places throughout atlanta that always have good turnouts. Events like mountain runs and cruises are often held as well. Word of these are mostly spread through facebook though.
If you want to know anything about them, feel free to ask and I'll share what knowledge I have!

Hey Josh, I'm up here in Alpharetta so if you hear of any Helen/Blue Ridge Z runs, please let me know. I'm planning on "driving" this car and not keeping it in the garage to protect the odometer. Not happening...livin' life to the fullest!

Happy Easter to all! Enjoy your families, be safe and watch Phil win his 4th Masters! As a "southpaw", I'm a bit partial to Lefties!

Alright, I'll let you know if I hear of anything.
You can also keep watch in the regional section of the forum found here : https://my350z.com/forum/south-east-33/
Big events are frequently posted there!

Happy Belated Easter to you as well! I'm a lefty myself and personally a fan of Mickelson, it's unfortunate he didn't win.
Did you know that he's naturally right handed, and I'm quite positive that golf is one of the few things he does left handed? Just something I find interesting!
