as promised, pics of everything blacked out. im REALLY impressed with how the doorhandles turned out. i only used about 2.5 cans to put 4-5 coats of plastiip on everything, including the wheels. i am going to redo the side badges because when i went to alter them so that the glossy background was uncovered, at work yesterday, i gouged the plastidip and some of the silver is coming through.

and how everything looks together

i tried to put the tinting film on the rear lights today but failed epically. ive never worked with any type of tint before and i believe that i need a heat gun to make it conform to the shape of the light, as i could not stretch it enough. ill pick up some more film when my floormats come in and i go to pick them up.

also, ive determined that im going to go with formula one tint by llumar at 30% all around with an 6 or 8" visor, whichever the legal limit is. then thats it untill the spring when i will be getting some properly sized tires(possibly wheels, too) and probably spacers(if needed like on the stockers)

Why would you put the 350z badge back on? Other then that it looks good. Oh and please don't tint the tails, that looks like shiz.

The 350z badge is taped on. If you get some goo gone and a plastic I'd card, like for instance a debit card and just slide it behind the badges they will come right off. Don't push the debit card towards your paint just take it slow and easy. I have done this method a lot and it's easier then dental floss. The back looks a lot better, just take a look at the picture threads.

They really don't come off that easy. The better method would be to use a blow
dryer or a heat gun and heat it up, and then use floss, slide it behind, and it should take off almost all of the double sided tape.

i dont get where this badge removal topic came from; i never took them off, nor do i plan to. but since we are on the topic, when i first got the car it had these stick on rubber fender flare trim things that i had to remove. i used a heat gun and peeled them right off, then rolled as much of the remaining glue off with my finger as i could and used some brake clean and a microfibre to take off the residue.

i am going through with the tail light tinting, using oracal transparent film. the stuff does not like to conform to the light very well, as i assume would be the case with any film, but with some heat from a heat gun, it stretches very well. i just wish i had an extra set of hands; would make this go along a LOT faster than 2.5 hours per light -_- slow and steady wins the race!

ill post pictures of the results of this, along with the side z badges showing the cutout i mentioned before

ok, so, everything is finished, for now.
ive got a couple pictures of the lights, before and after and a comparison, on car.

before

side-by-side, on car

kind of 3/4 view of one tinted light

finished product, straight from behind

as i said before about the side badges, i peeled the background piece of the plastidip because i wanted it to still have the glossy bg. in the process, i gouged the dip that i didnt want to peel, so i will eventually have to redo them, but here is how the worse of the two looks

on a side note, the car is disgusting! i need to give her a wash, but it keeps raining, so there isnt really any point.
also, i ordered some perk test pipes from NEXTMOD on saturday, first performance mod! cant wait to see how it sounds without cats
