Question Great Forum! Newbie and have a question for you =)

Hey everyone,

I have a 2002 350Z and have been following this forum for quite a while now. It seems to answer heaps of my questions and have some good info in it! Big ups

I finally decided I should join and get apart of it. I also have a question for you if anyone can help. I have searched long and hard through the website and haven't had anyone really cover it as such.

I have a set of BC BR adjustables in my Z and they just don't quite cut it IMO. Here in New Zealand it's pretty much go hard or go home, and dare I say it but BC really didn't cater for the 350Z owners as well as they do for the S-Chassis series for example. I deal with BC constantly and have used there products for years but..

They just don't go low enough for my needs.. I am trying to get my wheels sizes and preferences perfect and when your rear suspention can't tuck your stock wheels there is issues- so my quesiton is has anyone had their shocks shortened on there BC BR's?

Or has anyone had their base peice (the peice that you move to adjust hight) modded/die grinded to make the ajustment another few inchs?

Any help would be great, cheers!

Welcome! :] First off, they don't have a 2002 350z, its 2003 up. Second, do you have the optional shorter rear springs for the bc coilovers? They sell those for people who don't think the drop is big enough. And yes, you could take out the rear collars to drop it another 1/4 inch or so, but shortening the shocks doesnt seem like a good idea on an already cheap/taiwanese coilover.

If you want to slam your car, go with stance or function and form coilovers. Best bet. D2/bc/fortune auto don't quite slam your car like stance and f&f can

Thanks for your response. In New Zealand we do have a 2002 Nissan 350z, so I take it they were built in 2002 and imported that same year meaning in New Zealand the registration would have been in 2002 dispite the fact that most countrys wouldn't have registered it until 03- being on the market as an 03?

I have the low springs and really they don't cut it.. Seems a shame to have to purchase new coilovers after having the new BC BR set, and knowing they work brilliantly- track/drift =)

I may have to trade in

Managed to get it sorted- Nil locking rings, Nil rubber bushes- only barely remains captive, but I dont intend on jumping the car anytime soon. Sits flush with the front- and nearly tucks 18" stock wheel.

Now to see if I can get the 12's on the back

Welcome to the forum Slidesector. Pop across and say hi to us on the NZ forum too.

Good to see you've changed out the problematic parts. Depending on mileage those bushes etc that you've changed out were probably pretty tired anyway.

Forgot to ask where in Kiwiland you are?? We've got Motokhana at Ardmore in 2 weeks and a major track day in Taupo in Feb. Usually well over 100 people, great weekend, lots of fun!

Lol, not section. We're a MotorSport NZ affliated club too if that's of any help? Check your pm's.

Only a hop, skip and jump to Ardmore for our Motorkhana on the 20th Jan for you then, and only a bit further to Taupo for our ZClub track day.

Coverage is across the country, we usually have a few events a year in the Waikato, as we have a good number of Zeds there. Stronghold of the club is Auckland, being the biggest city with the largest number of Zeds.

We do of course rove to other forums such as my350z and a few others for techy info and to see what others from the global community are doing with their Zeds and of course interesting mods.

Very nice!

Just so you know there's is a 1000+ people car meetup in Rotorua this weekend called the Madmax CARnival if you're interested in something like that. Also there's a Classic Museum visit by the NZ club on the 24th of March at Hamilton if you're interested too
