Smile New Owner!

Hey Guys,

I have been dying to own a Nissan (I debated between a 240sx and a 350z) since my freshman year in college. I recently graduated and landed my first big boy job so I decided to reward myself.

I ended up finding a STEAL on my 2005 Z Touring which was already modded with everything that I was looking to do. I couldn't be more happy and am so proud to say that I own a Z.

I look forward to learning and contributing to this great community.

Cheers!

Thanks, man!

66,000 miles
19'' Volk SF-Challenge (fixed)
Borla exhaust
Z1 performance clutch/flywheel
Boston Pro60 speakers, 4ch amp, Pioneer deck

I bought it with the intention of turning it into a track car (drifting, specifically) since I already have a DD but the car is just so nice that I don't want to tear it apart. I'm sure after some time my feeling will change but for the time being I'm just going to enjoy the car, haha

Mods for the future:

Lighter wheels (I was eyeing the enkei rpf1's)
Cold air/short ram intake (surprised the car didn't already have one)
Tein tie rods for more steering angle (and which ever mods I can find to increase angle)
Bigger brakes (Brembo/Stoptech/Suggestions?)
Weight reduction (if I can bear ripping the car apart)
Misc things to stiffen the chassis for the track

That's about it for the time being, in a year or so I hope to go turbo/supercharged but that will have to wait since I'm not making THAT much money yet, haha

Car looks great!!! I fully support the mod list you have...If I could suggest a mod you will absolutely love it would be adjustable Sway bars. I personally have Hotchkis sways Vers. 2 and they are night and day for an already amazing handling car.

Brakes are a subject you want to do your research on..... the OEM Brembos are a decent step up from the regular brakes, but even a set of track pads makes a huge difference. My buddy's Brembos with track pads almost put me through the windshield during street driving when I pushed em. Way different feel to them imo.

I have Mag Blue GTS and I loooooooove the look. I have contemplated some RPF1s for track use, but I'm not around the tracks anymore.... for now. I think if I ever get back to the track I'll want some lighter wheels. GTS are light for what they are, but they aren't light compared to what's out there.

Keep up the pre-existing good work!

That is a great start man

- Enkei RPF1's are timeless, I'm picking up a set for my Z in a couple weeks
- This thread really helped me when I was looking into intakes: https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exha...aders-etc.html
- Although rods are an option, if you get serious into drifting your Z in the future, you may want to look into the PBM Super Angle Kit (http://www.gtfactory.jp/cms/page.php?15 toward the bottom of this link).
Corey Hosford (Formula D) from Ksport runs the kit on his Z (http://ksportusa.com/ksportformulad350z/)
- x2 on OEM Brembos being a great affordable option with track pads
- Ripping out the entire interior of a car (especially a Z) should ONLY be done to a dedicated competitive track/drift car..
- Chassis stiffening can be done in so many ways I'm sure if you research you'll find 100+ things to fabricate/install

I don't think those are GTS wheels, rather sf challenges.

In any matter, welcome.

Yep, look more like SF Challenges to me.

Either way, you bought the car with good quality wheels to begin with. A plus in my book. Congrats man.

You guys are both totally right. I didn't get a chance to ask the owner which models they were exactly so I hoped on google and tried to find them, thanks for clearing that up. And thanks for the warm welcomes!
