Default questions from a hopeful soon to own!

Hello everyone! I've wanted a 350z for awhile and I think I'm going to finally get one. My price range doesn't allow me to go any newer than '05. Most of the ones in my price range I'm finding are 80-120k on the miles. How many of you are running strong with high miles? What kind of immediate things would you suggest to check on the high mileage? I will be looking to get a coupe (non convertible) and manual transmission will be a must

126k on my 2004 and it's pretty strong. I've seen a couple threads on here where people have 300-400k miles on their Z. That was one of the reasons I didn't feel too badly about dropping ~10k on a car with 125k+ miles on it.

the main concern you should have is how well did the previous owner(s) maintain it. if properly maintained then you should be fine

Thank you for the input. With in the first year of buying it I do plan on turbo. With higher miles there are probably things I'm going to want to replace no?

No, no you do not.

Based on your questions, you don't know much about cars.

I'm running strong with 136k on my 03, I had to replace the clutch and a couple gasket and the clutch hydraulics but if it's maintained it should be fine. If you want to turbo it, miles are fairly irrelavant because you're going to be putting everything new in the engine

Comming from a fellow new guy you obviously didn't read much if you read at all you would know that when they designed the motor they wanted it to run strong for at least 200k miles and then it also talks about forced induction and that if you did force induction its going to put EXTRA stress on the motor and the internals
i took a screenshot for ya bud go find and read all three of these before you get eaten alive by these guys

I have an 03 with 187,000 miles on it. Runs strong no issues (knock on wood). I'm am the second owner, the 50 something lady that I bought it from made sure everything was done right with it.

Unless you replace almost the entire engine then slapping a turbo on a car with high mileage is just a bad idea. Besides, you can't afford anything newer than an 05 how can you afford a turbo kit, internals, and everything else you will need to properly boost the car?

Good luck in your hunt for an '05 350Z. The main thing that i'd be looking for in a motor that has done over 100k is that it has a full service record with no missed oil changes. Its unlikely that you're going to find an immaculate car that has nothing at all wrong with it (although youmay be lucky) just look through this forum for tips on buying a 350Z. The DE motor was designed to cover 200k if the service schedule was maintained, so you have plenty of miles left if you go for a motor with 120k on it. Good Luck in your hunt.
