Default New to the z33 platform but not Z's in general.

Hello everyone my name is Joe. I just recently bought this 08 base San Marino Blue Z from my best friend. It has many things done already that I would have done to it my self. BC racing coilovers, Mishimoto radiator and thermostat, Nismo 370z wheels, big brake kit front and rear, all lights LED including the dash cluster, tablet install that he did a great job on, an exhaust and z1 clutch that is nice and stiff. It only has about 80k miles on it and a bunch of little parts here and there. It does need a new front bumper and an engine rebuild because this motor has a spun bearing. So plans are to buy a motor and get this thing running quick then rebuild the original motor with forged internals for F/I. Here are a few pics of what I am working with and I know I have a lot to learn from the great guys on this forum. Thanks guys and I am looking forward to reading many post and talking with you all.

Welcome and what happened to the front of this Z? Looks like it's more than just a bumper cover, with the aluminum bumper brace and deformable braces gone as well. Also, the VQ35HR is one tough engine. How did it end up with a spun bearing?

When it was running, my friend was parked in the back of a wal-mart parking lot and some guy in a truck that parked in a space across from the z left his truck in neutral and the truck rolled back and broke the OEM bumper. He bought that poly bumper but that thing was so damn heavy that after I bought the car I trashed it and don't want that style of front end anyways. I have all the bumper parts just not the plastic. My buddy went Turbo with the car and he was messing around with it before the tune and that is what must of caused the problem. The headlights are in great condition and they are just sitting in the z.

Nice find and good mods already. you can probably pick up a good used motor for a good price. I see them on craigslist and ebay all the time. Good luck with it...

That's my old car, it has a lot more then what he stated there. This is the thread I made when I was building the car.
https://my350z.com/forum/vq35hr/6152...-hr-build.html

There was a series of events that caused it to blow all mostly my fault, was also running 12 pounds of boost on Boosted Performance kit. After selling the turbo kit I gave him the car for a really good price. He's been a really good friend of mine for over 20 years so really happy he has the car and I didn't part it out.
