Default Finally GOT MY BABY!!!

Checking in from the DMV. Northern Virginia to be specific. Just picked up an '03 Track with 83k for $7800. After almost two years of searching high and low, I've landed the car I first saw when I was a 14 year old and fell in love. Due to legal hinderances, it took me a little while, but I can say I am absolutely glad I was patient and landed a two owner damn near mint z. I shall name it TITAN. Pictures will be coming by tomorrow morning. As of right now, I'm off to cruising, just changed the oil literally at 11pm and ready to hit the road to put some miles on this bad boy. Once again, pictures will be up soon.

Any advice is welcome, I'll be asking questions and posting my experiences as I go along.

Thanks.

congrats on your first mod. A dry Vq is something you will need to avoid...or you will end up like me with a re-built motor.

Welcome to the club, once your honeymoon feelings are over, let us know what you intend to do with it. Also be sure to research questions first, the old timers here will bash you. Which is funny sometimes but start with this thread...

hell yea!! I've had it for just under a week. And I literally can't wait to clock out of work to hop in and take my 14 mile commute home. It's too much fun, however, having 20s on it is surely taking away to power output; I feel it. So I can't wait to start putting some money into it, already have some 18 inch rays which I'll throw on to get a bit power back. And then go into better airflow and lighter pulley etc

but thanks to everyone for the weclomes

Welcome- please realize Nissan did a good job with the air intake system and getting a bolt on CAI will not help performance without a tune. Better to save up for an UpRev cable and have both tuning and diagnostic capabilities.

Yea man definitely not just looking at a CAI, I'm fully aware of that. You say uprev "cable".... what does that mean? I thought uprev was the tune? And revup was the engine from '06 onwards.

UpRev is the name of the company that cracked the Nissan codes for programming and diagnostics. The license you purchase from that company is contained in the cable that plugs into the OBD II port. Do a search and you'll find tons of information on UpRev.

As an aside, the VQ revup was NOT used from '06 onwards in the Z33. This version was used only for the '06 Z33 coupe models for a single year. The '07-08 revisions included the VQ35HR engine, which is quite different than the DE or revup designs.
