Default De , de rev, and hv engines

Hey all. I hear the de engines ,the engine light does not come on as much as the others , rev and hv ??? I just don't want to deal with engine light coming on all the time . I plan on doing intake, exhaust, maybe a turbo someday. This will not be my daily driver.

The last version of the VQ35 was the HR, not HV. As for your question about CELs, the Z33 diagnostic system only triggers a light if a sensor indicates a particular system is not functioning within specs. So, no, VQ35DEs could potentially come on all the time if one system or another is out of whack. The only difference between the early DE and the later HR engines is an increasing complexity and computing power of the later models. Nissan utilized increasingly sophisticated software and more connections in the main harness to get peak efficiency and performance as the Z33 evolved.
