Getting back to my Nissan roots
Hey everyone. Have not bought one yet but figured I壇 introduce myself and just start lurking for info on my goals. I知 planning on getting an early 350z mostly for track use. I was in the Nissan world back in the late 90s and early 2000s. Had a 95 240sx, and 85 300z turbo, and a 93 TT.
I致e been in the Subaru world for a while but am at a point where I need to separate track use from daily driving. So my current car is going to be my daily. I知 not concerned about which sub model I get but am looking at the 03-05 MYs currently because of price. Things I知 concerned with are throttle response, oiling issues, braking issues, suspension/chassis, OE limitations, etc. This winter will be all about getting the research done and going from there in the spring. If anyone has any insight to share I値l gladly listen. Or if there are any specific threads I should search for that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, and I知 looking forward to getting back into a Z car.
Cheers

Welcome. You mentioned not caring which model you get but would highly consider getting a z with brembos. Base model brakes will be a major weak point for the track. As far as threads, not much specific but may want to look at the motorsports sub forum. Also depending on what class you plan on running, would look for build threads based on that.
Have already been thinking about brakes. The little bit I’ve researched already it seems that doing an OE Brembo upgrade isn’t that expensive. An if they are more capable then what has been supplied on Subaru’s, I’d probably go that route. Otherwise I’d be looking into an AP racing kit in the long run. Most of my track experience was from 1999-2003. I have only been to HPDE a few times in recent years, mostly because I’ve only had the one car. Eventually I plan on competing in Time Attack style events and would be aiming for something similar to NASAs TT2 class for now.
