Default Should I buy

It’s 20k idk anything about these, but that car is sexy, genuinely thinking about selling my car and buying it, or is it more worth to buy a regular used with low miles and attempt to do that, I know nothing about anything

$20k?!?!?!? With 160k?!??

HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

IOW, Sorry but that’s just frickin’ LAME. Mods add nothing to resale.

I’ll sell you my all-stock-but-suspension-79k car for $12k and sky’s the limit for the 8k diff. Sorry, usually not this cynical but 20k is just crazy! You could buy a 34 Nismo for 5k more or so.

Nice going OP, I've never seen Mic so worked up over a post.

Now, now Mic, might be time for your meds.

So what’s the worst that could happen, y’all got to explain to talk me out of it, the car looks so ****en sick, like literally out of need for speed underground 2, **** has a nitro bottle hooked up, I don’t think I’d be blue to make it look that pretty. I’m in Texas from what I see 350zs go for 10-16k around my area if I’m looking for anything around 50k-100k miles, idk how much after market **** costs or where to get or how to install but that’s y I am here posting😂

OP, ignore the haters. If you want to pay at least 3x the value of this Z, then go for it. It's not like you asked a question on a forum dedicated to more knowledgeable people asking their opinions.

Oh, wait...

Laff.... sorry, had just come home from Mexican dinner with two margaritas - a big mistake with the, appropriately enough, meds and recent health issues I had recently. Light weight is good in cars, not so much me n' hard alcohol.

Oh, *those* meds. Oooops.

Besides, obvious the OP wasn't looking for honest opinions. Just wants validation to buy the car. So, I'll revise my snide answer to: "Hey, it's your money."

Hey! I'm not a hater! I said "Hey, it's your money." Doesn't that usually mean "No one cares how much you overpay if it makes you happy?" on the internats?

you couldnt pay me to take the F&F 103 car. never did like the VS look. i sold my nicely modded hr 8 years ago for 14k, with 80k miles. if you want to buy this overpriced, high mileage (prob abused) car, go right ahead.... might have to put in some OT flipping burgers though

I'd like to see the dyno of that ebay headlight Z showing ~500+ whp. No one would say 500+ they would say the exact amount.

OK, not saying it isn't a well maintained, solid car and has the chance to go 990,000 miles. But.... assuming a decent driver not abusive on the car AND regular interval maintenance, you take any car at 160,000 miles and you're getting into "wear item replacement" components no matter what.

Drivetrain:
- Clutch and components (slave, T/O bearing)
- Transmission
- U-joints on the driveshaft, half shafts
- Differential

Chassis componentry:
- Brakes - pads, calipers, rotors
- Suspension - shocks, bushings, compression arms

Engine:
- Overall condition like valves, cams, rings, pistons, crank
- Every pressure producing or holding component like water pump, PS pump, radiator, hoses, belts, fuel pump, power steering pump, rack, etc.
- Gallery oil gaskets since its an HR engine.

All of this is even more critical in an FI car. Which leads to other components like the turbo bearing(s), oil feed, etc.

Interior: wear - seats/upholstery, notorious wear on all surfaces

Exterior: Paint, component rust, hatch struts...

So, any of this tell you anything? These are all essentially wear parts.

All are subject to environmental conditions, driver/driving conditions. Sure, all are fixable and replaceable but the point being that a 160k car is more prone to all of this.

But the main point is that it's overpriced for what it is.

And the same goes for ANY car with that kind of mileage.

If you are serious about it, you'll need to go do a full, end to end inspection OR have it checked over on a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) at a Nissan dealer ($150-300 well spent) or specialist in Nissan, particularly Z cars. This will reveal what it needs or will need. No one on the internet can tell you this due to the lack of hands-on.

And if your skin isn't thick enough to take the honest criticism, just buy it and good luck.

That is a 10-12k car. In Alabama bone stock cars are worth more.

If it has all the mods done to it you want then yes, absolutely buy it. A clean stock car will cost you near $10k, and not sure what the mods are to that car, but spending $10k modding a car to that spec would be pretty easy.
If it was me I’d find a friend who knows cars, and go look at the car with him, if it’s clean and done right, offer the guy $15k and see what happens.
