I'm assuming the old one is out. That is a bronze bushing that fits in the end of crank. Drive it in until it is flush.. The end of the input shaft on trans goes in no further than the length of bushing, may be a little more when trans is in place, not all the way up on shaft. When ready to install trans, put a drop or two of oil, no more on input shaft end to make it slide in. The bushing will absorb the oil. Use care installing bushing and don't damage trans end.

Before you install the new bushing, soak it in oil for several hours. I usually leave it overnight. It's porous and absorbs the oil. This keeps it lubed for years.
