My "other" car is an 2001 Acura Integra, which I've had for a few years (and am planning to keep for winter driving -- the Integra does really well in the snow with decent winter tires on it!). Everywhere I go in the Integra I've got teenagers in riced out (or even stock ) Hondas, Acuras, WRX's and EVOs revving up their engines at every stop light, wanting to race. To be honest, its gotten pretty annoying. It was fun at first, but it just never ends: riced out 4 nagers with raspy exhausts are EVERYWHERE in Colorado. Maybe I'm just too old for that stuff, at 42? Probably.

Anyway, the Integra is a fun car to drive, kinda like a quick little go cart: not FAST, but it handles decently and is pretty quick in the turns -- but I was getting really tired of the teenagers revving up their engines at ever stop light.

I got my Nismo about three weeks ago. The only two people that've wanted to race so far was a guy on a motorcycle (not sure what it was, but it was FAST) and a guy in a Ford Lightning (I was still breaking in the engine -- didn't run him).

The ricers? When I'm driving the Nismo and they pull up next to me at a stop light, they don't rev up their engines anymore -- or want to race. They just look over and say "Nice car!".

 

Congrats on your Nismo. That's how life goes. Now you're a steup up to the muscle cars. They will rev their engines at you.

 

I can say I noticed that too by moving cars. For some reason people dont irratate me anymore. Just stare.
Deff a perk to having this vehicle. lol.

I am a believer that your car selection should grow with you. When I was in my late teens, I got the Honda. Then in my late 20s, I got the WRX and now I got the Z. Frankly, my WRX was faster than the Z, but I just can't see myself (mid 30s) driving a WRX anymore. Now I don't initiate any street racing, but sometimes when cars tailgate me, I still let the Z rip the pavement. (Sorry 240sx I saw last week...you started it ). I have yet to see a Nismo in my area on the streets, but I am pretty sure the Nismo will get rev'ed on. We have a lot of young ricers in the bay area.

The day I went to pick mine up (150 miles away) I literally had a line of cars chasing me down reving it at me when I drove through this one town. It seems I get more people wanting to race me now than when I had my '03 Z, wonder why .

 

not very many cars challenge me anymore, going from a honda civic to a Z. but now i get to play with the bad boys =] . ive seen a handle full of nismo Z's around in my area.

 

I hope ur not suggesting the NismoZ is the car only a ricer could appreciate or look up to?

Ya my bro picked up a 07 redline Nismo about 2 months ago. Hes 33 and not as into racing as much as he used to be and he says he wished he didnt get the color redline because he belives it is responsible for all the lil ****ty Ricers that pull up and rev at him.

Personally I think the lil ****s are just trying to act tough n take on the 350z hahaha like that will happen.

 

I felt you. I had a 1998 integra before, and so people liked to mess with me.
Now, it's my turn to mess with rx7, supra, porche turbo and Viper and got my *** kicked; but I did slap a whole lot of other cars. HEHEHE!!!

ps. I got slapped by a 240 that car is so souped up is fasteeeest car I ever came across.

 

240's can be fast. lots of potential. my buddy has one. he is gonna turbo it this winter. that will be a sweet ride. we just did the lsd conversion in it and it made a lot of difference in it.

 

I drew this last winter when I was snowed in in Afghanistan. I'm getting a sticker on my car. I drive a Kia Spec5 around till I come back and buy my Z. I'm 31 and I got tired of the "reving".
