Track Day for the Nismo
I'm an automotive writer/critic and we have track days to put the new 2008 models through their paces on the race track. Consisting of infield and outer ring you can really get a feel for the car's performance and handling.
Most of the makes are common, nothing over 115k, some preproduction and limited release models. Basically, you have all day to jump in any car you want and drive as hard and fast as you'd like. Get this, no helmet either!
Nismo 350 z was standout (Audi R8, Viper as well) I would say this is best handling production car I've driven. Maybe when Maserati or Ferrari calls I'll change my tune. But for now, this car is a STEAL at this price for what it delivers.
Short throws, crisp gearbox, excellent clutch (and pedal spacing much better than the drop top 350 z they had). I had this into and out of a 4 wheel drift confidently. It's AMAZING on the track. It's tame enough for a daily driver as well (but this is coming from an S2000 guy)
The model they had was the auto press model everyone has seen. But I'll post photos anyway.

Who do you write for? I know SCI has a great read on the Nismo Z in their Nov. issue. Autoweek has a short review right now on the web and R & T has a comparo coming soon with the Honda S2000 CR. Edmunds has a very well done video and review of the Nismo Z as well.

The whole day is essentially running from car to car, waiting in queue for track laps and pressing the cars hard as you like on the infield of Pocono and a portion of the outer ring. All those hours of Gran Turismo paid off, it's a real life video game.
Here's a Video of the 08 viper (it's throw away video because of the quality, I keep the prime photos for my portfolio)
It had a babysitter (instructor) who rode with you (same for M6 and R8) everything else you grab whatever you want and go.
If this Nismo is any harbinger of the Skyline we're in for a treat when that hits the streets. Even at 70k that I last heard it will be a bargain.
I was bummed about the Honda represent at the track. They pulled their Accords from driving and had no s2000 CR on site.
As much as I love the S2000, I do feel the Nismo will trounce it in its CR version.

Not using a helmet on the track isn't something to get excited about.
