Default Best Winter wheels and tires for Nismo

I just had my first not so pleasant experience with my Nismo. Driving was fine in the snow. but as soon as I hit the road with salt it was bad to drive. I am wondering if a set of winter wheels and tires will make this good enough to make it worth the investment. Or is this just stupid to try.
I never owned winter tires for any of my cars. I am not sure if it makes that much of a difference. The smaller tires (245 back/ 225 front) should be better, but is it that much better? Or can I go even smaller? I checked on tirerack.com . Any tips and sources to get the tires and wheels would be awesome.
General driving in the snow is really fun. It's like drifting in slow motion

Get something else to drive inthe winter. I've got a 2001 Integra that is great for winter driving (wtiht he right snow tires). Sure, the Integra feels like a go cart after driving the Z, but it handles pretty well in the snow and it beats the HECK out of driving my wife's minivan.

Bad idea.... I rescently tried to move my car around in the garage. It took 3 guys and some gentle pushing to get her back in position.

Unless you plan to drive it with a couple Tow straps in the back and hope's of not sticking it. Haha good luck not recommended. I can't afford to use it as a beater and I would think most others here would value their car to much to put it through such abuse. Winter storage is a must!

I live in Connecticut and snowboard primaily in Killington,VT. I have used my 2003Z to make the trips every winter. Now I will be doing it with my NISMO. I do you blizzacks and they work great. My only concern now is the NISMO has less ground clearance and need to be carefull that roads are cleared well. I try to avoid storms however once the roads are plowed the car drives well.

Yes, because the Z will rust out from the salt in a matter of minutes I don't get the salt thing. My Z does just fine in winter and is special because it hasn't fallen apart from the salt yet. In fact, I can't seem to find any corrosion on it yet so maybe salt decided to not eat away at my car and spared it because it's a Z

In all seriousness, yes, winter tires will help A LOT. I see stories almost daily from people that claimed to try and drive the Z in snow and said it was a disaster. What is usually left out is the small detail that they also had summer tires on the car while doing it. Kinda important. Yes, if you drive the Z in snow with summers then you will kill yourself.

Get winter tires and you will be much better off. Ground clearance is an issue with Z so understand that you won't be able to drive in deep snow which is really not an issue around here. We get good plowing service for the most part in MA so you should have no problems. Remember to take it slow in the snow. You'll be fine. It's just a car. Take it to a car wash occasionally to blast the grime off and it will look as good as new year after year. IMHO, if you have a nice car like NISMO Z, it belongs on the road. Nice cars don't do you much good if they sit in the garage. If I'd have one, I'd drive it as often as possible

Thanks for that 'priceless' advice. Your delivery could use some work though.

BTW, keep the personal insults to yourself. #1 rule of debating: once you go with a personal shot, you lose. It's called desperate man's last resort. Try to have a nice day sport.

a. Get some snow tires.
b. Drive the 350Z as is just be careful.
c. Leave the 350Z at home when it snows.

Choose any of the above.
