Default Front plate...

I have my Nismo coming in a few weeks. So, I was going over in my head all the little goodies i can get for it. Then it occurred to me.....i hope they dont put on a front plate in the preparation and mess up the nose. The dealer did that to my last car (05 STi). I told them NO FRONT PLATE before it all....Then what did i get? ......... A front dealers advert plate with crappy screws tapped into the front bumper. I took it off when i got home, but of course i now had 2 nice holes where the plate went. That pissed me off to no end.

So, I was wondering. Does the front plate on the Nismo attach via screws going into the nose making damage, or does it attach via a bracket that mounts under the nose and can be easily taken off with no damage? I was just curious. I was thinking about to whether or not call up the dealer and make a stink about it. SO i figured id ask first before i make a *** of myself.

Thanks

The front bumper of the Nismo comes with two small indents where the holes need to be drilled. It doesn't come stock with a barcket or the holes. Luckily for me, TN doesn't require a front plate. The dealership in Germany actually drilled the holes for my BMW, so now that I am back in the US, I just added a German plate to the front. Looks pretty good IMO.

Default no front plate

I have an 07 coupe, told dealership not to install front bracket or I would not take delivery. Looks so much cleaner without.

+1 you have to tell them or they're gonna put the holes in. you can find another way to attach the plate.

My state supposedly requires a front plate, but i have not had a front plate on in like....8 years with no issues.

I called the dealer this afternoon to put on the paperwork in BIG RED INK NO FRONT PLATE, BRACKET and DEALER DECALS. They said no problem, but I guess ill have to wait to see if the PDI guy pays attention to it.

If you absolutely need you can make your own front plate braket with a large 22mm bolt going into the tow hook.

Yeah i dont need a front plate, Im just trying to avoid damage to the nose at all costs. Hopefully they make good on the request.

My state had no front plate law....forever. Then they made it "law" again like 6 years ago. But I never had a issue ever and neither has anyone else I ever talked to. I think they busted ***** the first month the law went into effect, after that....nothing.

tell them you won't buy the car if they decide to drill the holes in the bumper.
