Hey guys im kinda new here and i want to buy a nismo z more than anything. i'm in a terrible situation that i would love to get out of. i have an 08 G37 about 2 months old with 3500 miles. the car is a lease for 39months. i got it from a dealer which owns a infiniti and nissan dealership. i want to talk to my salesman and ask him if it would be possible for me to end my lease and purchase a nismo Z from the other nissan dealership. i was wondering if this would be possible to do with min. penalties. since they are the same company i was wondering if this would be a possibility and if they would look at it as if they are getting a deal out of it. since i want to purchase the nismo Z and not lease the g37 anymore. i'm going to talk to the dealer tomm. and wanted to know some input on the situation. thanks a lot guys in advanced and i hope i can join you guys in owning a 1 of a kind beauty that i can't stop thinking about.

something wrong with the g37?

 

yeah its a lease g37 and i want to purchase the 350z.
i like the g37 but its just too heavy for what i want to do. i want to get either the nismo or an 08 350z and eventually turbo charge it. i hope to get help from you guys b.c i have till this wed. to decide. i can either get the nismo #892 MBLACK or a 350z GT marino blue or black. im having the hardest time. im 21 years old and purchasing my first car and don't know if i will get sick of looking at the nismo350z since i'm going to be keeping it for about 5 years. please whatever info you guys can give will be greatly apprec. i seriously love 350z. the nismo is sick since they only made 1500, but i also don't want to have unwanted attention to the car such as cops and ricer or whatevers since people don't know what a nismo 350z around where i live. i live in missouri by the way and it's just all about american muscle here. please help me decide =/

 

Nismo for sure. You may get some biased opinions here, but a few Nismo owners have had previous Zs and the NISMO is simply a better car all around.

From the GT, the main things are leather, BOSE and NAV. On the NISMO, leather can be added if you're so inclined as well as a sound system and an in-dash NAV.

I prefer the manually operated seats in the Z and don't miss NAV, however, the sound system is a weak-point. I wouldn't mind upgrading, but don't wish to add unnecessary weight.

 

I just put a Pioneer D-3 Nav in mine and it would blow your mind at how much the speakers opened up.

It's not "sound system" good obviously, but its a marked improvement.

And the D-3 doesn't weigh anymore than the stock head unit, you get Nav, MP3 capability, etc...

 

Regarding Steven's comment about unwanted attention from cops.

Since my car is one of the only 350z in my town, let alone a nismo, which looks outragous compared to all the camreys, have have 3 times rolled through stop signs with a cop comming down the perpendicular street. I just slap myself and say crap Im going to get pulled over and slow down so the cop can keep me insight. Strangely enought I have not gotten pulled over for it (knock on wood). They ususally follow me for a street, and then just drive off, probably seeing if I will roll through the next one, or maybe its just the respect for me not trying to fly off and pretend they cant catch me.

Kind of glad I got the front license plate put on now though, considering if a cop is looking to pull me over, that would give them an easy reason.

Interesting about the g37 and the 350z situation. I feel your pain. I am the same age and really considered the g 37/35. I have to say the G35/37 is sooooo much more comfortable than the Nismo, and you get the extra 30 HP or so from the g37 engine which balances out the weight issue a little. Another good thing for you, is that since it is a lease you can drive it into the ground for 3 years or whatever your lease is for, and then just turn it in and not have to worry about the consequences at the 5 year mark as if you bought a Nismo. I would think the lease rates on one would be throught the roof on a Nismo anyways. AND you get a backseat!!!

G37 is a nice looking car, plus when you trade it in you will be about 24or so? Still plenty of time to buy a 2 seater or something... I would not be conserned with not being able to get a nismo or something.... by 2011 I'm sure some rediculous new design will be comming out for some manufactuer.

I find I can't really use the power and handling in the Nismo that often anyways with the roads and traffic up here in MA, and wish I had the comfy interior of the Infiniti.
