Why would anyone that has a special version of a sports car, that has specific changes done to it to enhance what the car is, install much softer springs just to improve the looks of the car? I mean it toally goes against why you paid extra for the car in the first place.

Since having lowered the Z no such rubbing issues, and the handling is just the same as the Nismo springs. Here's another pic.

Are you expecting some sort of educated, intelligent useful response here? Allow me to help - "now it handles like it's on rails" .

Take a look at those spring rates again. That is incredibly high. Unless you drive only on glass or track the car 95% of the time, I couldnt imagine putting up with that stiff of a ride.

21%/35% softer springs doesn't equal a improvement. Any perceived improvement is coming courtesy of the bumpstops becoming a secondary spring which it doesn't take too much to figure out is a bad thing. Then again IIRC the op was just after looks.

Because the oem Nimso shocks cannot deal with springs that stiff. Put the right shock with the T2 springs and ride quality can be tolerable.

Might not be of interest to you, but have you considered trimming the rear spring mount to get the extra drop you're looking for?

The Rear Spring Mount Mod

I have considered that and contemplating it. I'm happy with how the front looks but wish the rear was at least 1/2" lower. And I know I can get that drop by modding that spring mount.

That's my plan, I don't have a nismo, but I plan on doing it after I get back from VIR this weekend if you're interested in pictures. It's an 03 so the rear gap isn't so pronounced but still a little more than it should be. I too can live with the front.

Your best bet would be Cobb springs. Almost an inch drop and the spring rates are very close. Other then that no other spring offers the kind of spring rates the nismo has...

Has anyone done the spring mount mod on their nismo Z? I'm just wondering if the change in height will drastically effect the performance of the car. Not to mention, i don't want the nismo shocks to blow out prematurely...

I've got brand new spring mounts at work waiting to be cut. Plan on getting it done this weekend. A 1/2" would make it look good but after putting my new wheels on, I'm pretty happy with the stock rake/ride height.
