Default Nismo Rear tire sizes

In place of the stock 265 35 19's on stock wheels could one use 255 35's or 265 30's? I am looking at a Nismo but do not want to spend 1000$ every 15,000 miles for tires. I am 46 and will be looking for normal "sprited" driving. I have been looking at the General Exclaim as a good alternate to the $300 per tire choices. That said if I want to have some fun I dont want to worry that I have $650 in rubber on the back.. That is silly. You can get vette tires cheaper.

Thoughts and alternates appriciated.
Thanks.

Thumbs up

You can go with 400 Rated tire that would give you 30K miles on them.

www.TireRack.com is your best friend for new tires.

I would go with OEM size, anything under 265 for the rear will give you nasty ride and look very bad with 19x10 in rear the 265 is pushing it to max of what you would be running in which is a 285.35.19.

I would go with
275/35ZR19 in rear !!
Speed Rating “Y” = 186mph (300kph) 96Y SL Treadwear: 500
Traction: AA
Temperature: ((((A500 ))) with 500 you would get 40K miles out of them with care.

And for the Front
255/40ZR18 or 245/40ZR18
Speed Rating “Y” = 186mph (300kph) 94Y XL Treadwear: 500
Traction: AA
Temperature: A500 AA A

Michelin's Pilot
Pilot Sport A/S Plus

The Pilot Sport A/S Plus is the Ultra High Performance All-Season tire member of Michelin's Pilot family of low profile, high-speed tires that represents the evolution of the Pilot Sport A/S. Developed for the drivers of high-end sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans, the Pilot Sport A/S Plus is designed to combine enhanced all-weather performance, wet grip and treadwear along with year-round traction, including in light snow.

Hope that helps

Do I have this right? You are looking for tires for a 350Z that you don't have?

Black, Thank you for all that great information... Well done!

David, Yes. I am looking at all the issues I need to be aware of in getting a Nismo. I have 3 I am looking at. While the tire issue is small it was just something I was looking into.. That as well as insurance and such.. I have 4 other cars and dont want to get into something that is going to be way over the top to run correctly.

Is the ride REALLY as harsh as many say? I live in NJ and the roads are not very good..

Dude i m running a set off nismo wheels on my Touring Z.. 255/285 tire combo.. Im always in NJ and live in Manhattan the ride is absolutly horrible harsh as fock..
My parents live in Jersey so i have to go there all the time.. I hear the nismo Z suspension is more stiff than a normal Z... Test drive this ***** to make sure you can live with the ride seriously!!!

You can do what i did,and buy on ebay,95 mustang cobra r wheels 17x9. cost $550 shipped and a faulk 615 tire 275/40 $150 ea. shipped. This set up you can rotate and get good mileage use from the tires. Plus a different look
