Default Anyone running HKS Hyper Max 3 Sport on NISMO

I'm trying to see if this will really make big upgrade from stock NISMO setup.

I'm looking to get HKS HyperMax 3 Sport.

I'm just trying to get feed back about this and if anyone has this on there car.

Thanks

I have it and I'm happy because I got a damn good deal on them....
honestly... if I have to go in details... they are good, stiff, nice on the track... but... but... if I have to do it again (an probably will on next Z)...
I'll get truechoice koni coilovers
http://www.truechoicekoniracingservices.com/
they are just short of 3K... but could be the best coilover you can get for the track.

lowered just a little bit...
I like it on the track.. on the road is quite a PITA.
if you keep the settings on the soft side is drivable also on the road.. but be just careful. yes it's an upgrade... but can be done better... the feeling is that those shocks has to much compression control and not enough rebound control. (details.. are good... but not "racing")

Thanks, I love your car looks very clean with the drop

I may only go half a inch because I don't want to tear up my front end.

But I don't mind the stiff ride just don't want it to be softer then NISMO setup.

Thanks for your input.

trust me.. is not even going to be close to be "softer"... not even in the softest settings... but.. just fyi... on the rain.. could be "tricky".

I put Tein coilovers on my Nismo, and dropped it as low as possible. The car looks fantastic, but now I need front and rear camber adjusters (D'oh!).

yes, in the rain I can make the car slide in a straight line in 1st, 2nd and even 3rd gear just flooring the throttle. only 1st and 2nd with cold road and really cold tires. this setup is quite stiff and wants good tires (something with soft and grippy compound... I have bf kdw... too hard for sure)

I also have the diff at 100% lock and that "helps". on the track, with R comps, right tires temp and grippy surface is ok, it's a fast setup... on the road you just need to be careful because the "snap oversteer" could happen.

wow, I was thinking about going over to PS2 setup 255.40.18 in front and 285.35.19 in the Rear.

Or maybe I should go with non sport setup.

You think the non sport would be to soft?

honestly when I was evaluating this setup... yep, regular sport might be just a little bit stiffer than the regular nismo setup.
on japanese specs the increase in spring rate is about 15% but more than 50% on dampening between the regular hypermax and the sport ones...
the stock might be undervalved. more comfort but the car could be bouncy.

if you do that just for lowering.. the regular hypermax should be a damn good setup... and more forgiving on the road.

according to somebody my car is insanely stiff... according to me.. is too soft, too much compression valving and not enough rebound. (still good but not as I'd like)

I also run HyperMax III Sports on my Niz. I have to agree, for street performance the ride will not be what your use to. Dialed in right they take the mountain turns Great! I also enjoy the agressive lowered stance!
