For sale...
I know it's not the color you wanted, but I am considering putting my Nismo #648 up for sale. It has a brand new custom paint job, (No wrecks!, just wanted a different color after a recent wind storm scratched the paint.) Only 20k miles on her. I would be willing to drive it to Texas for you if you paid for my return air fare. Asking 25k plus return air far to Portland, OR. If you are interested please let me know. Email me at mhearn0033@gmail.com and I will send you my phone number so we can discuss it.

I agree it is a pretty good deal.. and I even commented on the OPs orig. post regarding his car. Problem for me, and could be with others, is that its a limited edition car. Once you go messin the original paint the value tends
to drop and drop fast. Happens with the other cars and z models as well but more so with the limited #'d models..unless of course the new owner repaints to original color using "Nissan" paint then life is good :-)
but the car does look nice..
dang just wish it was Silver Alloy I would consider it

Color
At least I used Nissan colors. Anyway, it is a cool car and it is worth 25K. Let's face it, there are plenty of cars out there no where near as nice that cost over 25K. Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, etc.
Anyway, thanks for all the comments. If anyone is interested, email me.

What are you using to determine value? I can't seem to find a decent site that actually has the NISMO as an option. Like Kelly Blue Book, Edmonds, etc. None of those recognize the NISMO option.
If I am wrong, please direct me to a link or something.

OOPS, quoted wrong person... Sorry

I am going to speak to a dealership this weekend and try to get one. I will keep you guys posted on how that works out

original post...i was asking maybe because of experience with buying cars...u need to haggle the **** out of these stealerships...like i said earlier, i got ray brandt nissan to drop their price from 39k sticker to 27k out the door...best thing is to go out to dealership...dont ever tell them u have money in hand....my best approach over the phone is telling them i dont wanna waste my time or theirs and i'm looking for the best deal possible. then i'll go out there and tell them i want it at this price and that's final...how is ur credit? if u have good credit, u have nothing to worry about

I have pretty good credit, I am going to the dealership this weekend and by showing up with money in hand (only the amount I want to pay) and my car to trade in, They will know that I am serious.
I have no problem walking out and leaving, but will communicate that I do not live nearby and me walking out does not mean that they can call me back the next day and agree to my deal and Ill come back. If i leave, then I leave and the offer goes with me.
I am getting frustrated trying to handle this by email/phone and want to talk to them in person. The main reason why there is a bigger problem right now than when the car was new is because when it was new, the dealerships got incentives/kickbacks from Nissan to sell that model car. Now, since they are considered used, there are no kickbacks and the salesman don't make money by selling the car very cheap. They don't care if the car moves off the lot unless it makes them $$$. The sales managers and general managers understand that it looks bad and is bad business to have the car sit on the lot for like a year. They want the car to move off the lot and will be the only ones who will be able to authorize the transaction.
Basically, I am having to deal with used car salesman and the used car commission structure rather than when the car was new. Getting tired of playing games with these people.

Shaun,
A couple points I would like to add..All the Nissan Dealer websites I have been on that have 2008 Nismos in stock still consider them "new" cars. They are listed under the "New" cars and not on the "pre-owned" side of their website. Also depending on when the dealer took delivery of said 350 Nismo, it could be well over a year, and going on more, that the car has been sitting on the lot.
Plus that place on the lot that a 2008 model is taking up, costs the dealer money. It also looks bad when the new 2009-10 370z Nismo is in the show room for almost the same sticker as the lesser 2008 350 Nismo...and that the dealers are NOT willing to sell the car for what it is really worth. Not very realistic by any means. I said before..if a dealer still has a new 2008 350z, Nismo or otherwise..well guess who is now eating the depreciation costs. The dealer is this time, usually the customer bears that burden. Its a hard pill for the dealers to swallow. If we as consumer/potential buyers stick to our guns the dealers will eventually swallow that pill for once!
Shaun if you do buy a new 2008 from a Nissan dealer, that purchase could set the bar for other Nissan dealers who have new 350 Nismos and "left over" 350z models in stock. So work the best deal you can, could help others out in the long run. I think its been a bit over a month since I heard someone buying a 2008 Nismo from a Nissan dealer.
Good luck keep us(me) posted. Use this forum to your advantage if you can when at the dealer..
