I have a question... I have a 350Z Nismo. I do not understand why all these dealerships have "New" ones sitting on their lots. If these cars are so bad *** then why are they sitting on lots all over the country? It seems as though they would sell right away for being such a cool car....
What's you guys' opinions?

I know that I really like the car, but I am not going to pay more than $29,000 for it.
The dealerships do not want to come down low enough for what I want to pay

The sticker price on the a New 350z Nismo is like 38-39K..mmm..WAY too high..at this point..Nissan does not even produce this car anymore ..its done, mark it in the Nissan history books. Not too mention there is no real performance advantages Nismo vs other 350z models..meaning no raw horsepower, etc..etc.. advantages. Handling, looks, being a #'d limited edtion car are the pluses for the 350 Nismo.
The dealers are still clinging to fact that the car is a limited production #'d vehicle, which is fine to a certain point. Then reality needs to kick in sooner or later.
The dealers are trying to get as close can to the sticker price..that is why a few dealerships still have these cars on the lot.
Oh and the economy pretty much sucks right now :-).

^^ True, but depending on the Z version, some hold their values over others. The 15th Anniversary Gold Edition Z can be had for $10k right now. And that car is almost 30 years old. The Z32s Easily 10-15k for one in excellent shape fixed up.
The NISMO is a limited edition, even more limited than the 370z version with the seam welded chassis. As you can see, people want them, so they are going to stay priced higher than the rest as they are harder to find.

I am not disputing the fact that they are worth more than most other model z's. I am just saying that they are only worth what the market (consumer) will pay for them. These cars have been new on the lot for a long time, so that means that at their current price, no one wants them and those that did already have them. What is left now are people like myself who want that car but at a cheap price.
It is only a matter or time before they bite the bullet and unload the car and screw over someone else down the road to make up for their losses. I do not feel bad for these dealerships, they are going to continue to make money. Losing money here will not kill them

10k for a 15th Ann. Gold..is low based on what I have seen people asking in the past for that car..the mid to almost hight teens and I have seen it at over 20k at one point some time ago.
So even that 10k price has dropped I guess..
And with a car that old and the building techniques and materials used in the '80s..surprised any of the 280zx survived..lol..
Are people really buying this old car at 10K..??
The way car companies turn out cars today almost every model is a limited production. How long will chevy make the current comaro?? When is pontiac going to re-release the Trans-Am..hehe..
Bottom line dealership have to stop clinging to the hope that any car #'d, limited or otherwise will someday 30years down the road be worth, close to , or exceed the orig. sticker price. Those days are almost gone. And to be honest..It takes a lot of hard work, effort and car to keep a car that long and in mint-collectible condition, done by the owner, owners of the vehicle. Has nothing to do with the dealerships..
(New/leftover)2008 350z Nismo (low to no miles) worth, in terms of doller value under 30k take home. Thats stock no exrta added mods, etc..Even a well cared for 2007 Nismo running a very, very close second to that price.
As the '07 and '08 are exactly the same car.
The quicker the dealers sell the 350z's they have in stock, the quicker that new owner can eventually upgrade to the newer 370 or beyond car.

Dealer's will not go any lower than $32,000 in the south. Had one of the managers of a dealership tell me, " I would rather give that car to my daughter to drive than sell it to you at that price (my offer was $30,500)."
These dealers are completely crazy. I thought they made money by selling cars, guess they think the longer it sits on the lot it appreciates rather than depreciates.
Keep playing the waiting game I guess.

Shaun,
Exactly..the dealers just clinging on to them..I ran into the very same thing and I never got the impression from them that if I showed up with cash that anything would change.. $32K... plus add up all the BS etc your back up to 36k..um thats is just NUTs.
I started a thread sometime ago..dealerships are funny..I think is the title..
Just wait it out, like me.
Funny how they can waste money on Ebay listings time and time again, not sell the car, and they still dont get the message.

Solo-350z, I would take you up on the offer, but this would be my daily driver and I dont want a used car as my daily driver. My job causes me to have to drive to clients offices quite frequently and I just cant take the chance of it breaking down.
I hope you understand
Thanks though

Any car can break down. Mine has never seen the dealer as it has never given me a single problem. Mine is also a daily driver. With only 18k of miles, it's low miles for being 2 years old. Your choice. I am not really selling it,but just threw that out there in case you might want it.
But I understand you want one right off the showroom. You will be lucky to get one now that the 370z has been out for a while that is still at a dealer and in new condition this late in the game.

There are five delaerships and 6 nismos still on the lot new in my area. I am working on them to come down on their prices.
I am really looking for a white one preferrably anyway. I like your car, looks good and according to your signature, it contains quite a bit of "goodies."
I am going to wait out these dealers because my offers are reasonable given the fact that there are 370's and 370 nismos out there for not much more money but a few more features. Anyway, I might end up having to wait so long that I save up enough to comfortably purchase a 370 nismo.
The car i have is still new so I have nothing but time, doesn't mean that I dont want to join the nismo club though

Good luck finding a new nismo for under 30 grand, does not matter if they have been sitting in showroom for a year, I have seen brand new 1995 twin turbos still in dealer showrooms for sale on ebay and autotrader, these dealers know what they have, the nismo's are going to be a very hard car to find in 3yrs, the new 370z is a good car but the 07 08 nismos are going to be in a class all alone, recent nissan sport mag gives the the best ever nismo car ever, to the 07 08 350z nismo.
