Default If you have a NISMO 350Z get your alignments checked

Well mine was going through tires fast in the rear, and I just took mine last weekend to get the alignment checked and my Toe was out of spec. Both of my tires wore out the same way fast. So it was off from the factory.

My friend with a 08 NISMO just had his checked today after I told him, because his tires looked like mine. His was also off.

After getting it fixed, he also noticed it, that our car handle much better now. More grip coming out of a turn. More stable feeling.

Here is a alignment sheet, and I also attached the PDF of the factory NISMO 350z alignment specs.

The way the tires looked.

Left tire....right side of it worn in. 4/32 left compared to 6/32+ on the left.

Right tire. Left side of it 3/32 compared to 6-7/32s on the right of it.

Are the alignment specs same as a standard 07 350Z? Thanks for posting the pdf.

I had mine alligned 3 weeks ago with 5500 miles on the car. I had a very bad problem with wheel hop and I finally noticed that the left rear wheel on mine was canted in towards the center of the car by ALOT. I took it in to the dealer and they found the left rear wheel to be over 4 degrees out on the toe in and 9 degrees in on the camber. After being re-aligned it is literally a different car now. No more wheel hop whatsoever and the car corners like a slot car now. Everyone said it was a tire presure problem when I brought up the wheel hop in the beginning but they were definitely not correct. Nismo owners, get them checked!!!

thanks for the info. My car feels like it is slightly off and it only has 1800 miles on it. I am going to take it this weekend to get checked. Dont want to be buying new tires prematurely

Usually a dealer will do a courtesy alignment if its within the first 12 months or 12 miles. Just tell them its pulling to one side. After that period it is on you dollar.

I'll have to check mine. I've got 4200 miles on it and 1300 of them are on new tires. I've always thought the camber in the rear was extremely aggressive if all you do is drive it on the street.

I've been telling people for years now that you have to get your alignment checked at least once a year, and preferrably twice a year. The Z does not hold an alignment - period.

Make perfect sense since it looks like the only thing adjusted was the TOE settings and they set in "IN" to the max. That was the same exact problem with the 03/04 cars and the tire-feathering fiasco.

Before numbers look like:

Front driver tire points right
Front passenger tire points right

Bet left turns were a sonofabeech!

Really glad I read this post. I have severe wear (belts starting to show) on the far inside shoulder of the rear tires, particularly the driver side! I don't think I would have noticed it offhand since it was on the far inside of the tires. The outsides looked okay. The fronts had pretty even wear. Ended up getting new tires and alignment earlier than I thought (Hankook v12 275/35/19, 255/40/18).

I check my alignment every oil change, part of the perks of running a shop, but you can expect tires to wear on the inside edges even if the alignment is perfect. Negative camber will do that and almost all performance cars come factory set with negative camber for better handling attributes. Just the nature of the beast.

Sorry about the bringing the thread back to life but I just got my alignment checked as well and it was way off. Thanks for the good info BTW. I normally have mine serviced at our local infiniti dealer but as this was warranty work I took it to the nissan dealer. They were actually quite good, even parked it all by itself after they had finished the work--I was pleasantly surprised how they treated me and the car.

I have put 6kmi on my TR1's with the new suspension. I haven't noticed any uneven tire wear so far! The car has a very slight pull to the left since being lowered. I'm a perfectionist so to me its annoying. If the shop has time I will have the allignment done this week while at the shop.

I also have some negative camber in the rear. Guessing 1 degree. I need to pickup camber arms and toe bolts but its low on my priority list so far.

I did mine after 1 1/2 year since I got my NISMO with me. Thanks to SOLO-350z, it reminded me to check the alignments on my NISMO.
This is before the alignments. Now everything is correct after the alignments. Thanks SOLO-350z.
