Default Authentic Nismo Check?

Hi all:

I'm a first time poster/user, and have been drooling over a 350z for a few years now. My beautiful 3.2TL got totaled last week and I've been looking out for a solid used G35 or 350z as my next car.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/ctd/1366960819.html

I came across this.. not sure as to the policy for posting exterior links on this site, but from appearances, can you tell if this is a Nismo or not? I have done a few searches on Nismo exteriors and it seems like most have the classic wing on it. Not sure if that is standard.

Anyway, I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow to see what's up with it, but 15k for a 50k miles Nismo seems a bit too low.

Appreciate it! Look forward to being a part of this community should I decide to get a 350z .

-Rich

I'm still pretty new to the z cars but that does not look like a nismo to me? I'm sure you'll get your answer here pretty soon. But good luck on finding the right z for you!

Not a nismo. Looks like an 04 touring package because of the leather seats and bose stereo.

as far as nismo version Z's that is not one of them, the real nismo 350z's were only available in the 07 08 model year and were supplied with the version 3 kit.

Ah, gotcha thanks. The kbb for a 2004 touring with 51k miles is around $19,500 (suggested retail), and the private party value is ~$17000. If everything checks out and it is in excellent condition, would this still be a good deal at around $15000?

Appreciate all the quick help already. This community is awesome.

Check for other stuff though. A guy advertises the car as Nismo when it is not. Sometimes people refer to Non-Nismo Zs as Nismo when they have a Nismo bodykit on it. But this does not have any. That should be a sign for you to be cautious and check out everything is working properly. Check for any possible modifications and make sure they were done properly.

Nope - not a Nismo (just emblem and frame). For a dealer, the price is pretty good. Looks clean. Go for it!

BTW - it looks like the previous owner changed out the tail lights to LED and tinted the rear window. (This have added value add the dealers price actually look even better now). Get rid of the antenna...

Of course it's a Nismo. Don't you see the badge? It's a complete given, especially when it's slanted.

Looks like it has a very dull clear bra on it. remove that and those ugly mud flaps.

Sounds good guys, thanks for all the advice. I am checking it out today with a friend and will pay close attention to the small things before I make a decision.

Just an update: I got the car! Thanks all for your responses. Turned out to be 15,300 out the door and I am very very happy with it. Look forward to posting more in this community in the future
