Exclamation Quick Question about my cats.

A friend of mine (not very reliable) told me that hollowing out my cats, as he has would be the same as test pipes. He told me this because i am looking to buy test pipes for my nismo, my first mod. (only 13 k miles so i dont have much time to drive it.) and i enjoy the way his sounds its very deep, and quite when at idle (he has an 03 base) so i was wondering, would hollowing out my cats be the same as buying test pipes? (not trying to be cheap on my baby, but if i can save money by doing it myself and getting the same thing, im all for it) OR should i just buy the berk Hi flow cats. keeping the stock headers, and intakes (only k&n drop ins)
any input would be much appreciated.

i read some of the others posts, and they are saying they are not sure why and it will create a bubble in the stock cats, and my car may run leaner, and less restrictive, such as the guy who post he was going down a hill in third and instead of slowing down like he usually does(before he hollowed out his cats). it continued to speed up. so any useful information would be helpful thank you guys again

Definitely DO NOT hollow out your converters! I read an article in a Dsport magazine comparing stock catalytic converters, hollowed cats and test pipes. The worst of the bunch was in fact the hollowed out converters. If I can find the link i will post it.

dude you can get TP for little over 1 bill. if you have enough money for a nismo and payments you have enough for tp and doing right. plus stock cats are worth money, fyi.

well if you post the link that would be awsome! my buddy told me bout it, i was just curious! thanks ill show him this as well, thank you.
and i know how much tps are, i was looking at them, but like my story said my bud said its like the same thing, so i thought i would ask, and its not being cheap, but if i can save money and do it myself i would take that road instaed of putting money into something that gets the job done just as well. (i got my nismo at a smokin deal man, with 1 mile on the odo. for 22k aint too shabby eh?) (O and for helpful hints on how to purchase new vehicles, and get them at smokin deals Shoot me a PM and i can give you some pointers that help!)
Im looking at putting in berk hi flow cats instead.
