Installed LED Daytime Running lights
It has to do with spacing also. The LED's in the bumper reflector are at the edges of the car. The placement of the LED's in that location keeps with the wide stance of the Z.
When you put lights towards the center, it "narrows" the stance of the Z and just looks "aftermarket" and amatuerish.
Not hatin' ....just sayin'.....

Here you go:

I bought the 9.5", which has 24 LED's, and 3 were cut off so the strip fits the reflector housing perfectly.

Hi,
Sorry, this may be a noob question, but what wire do you tap into if you want to have them as DRL? I know it's the ignition wire, but are you running the wire all the way inside the cabin? I'm debating whether or not it's worth it to do this mod. Thanks!

Mine are just wired with the oem parking lights. The wires are easy to see/access as you're installing the reflectors. IIRC, the ground is black, the 12V+ is green, but if that's not right, just follow the wires to the parking light socket.
I agree and I think that is what makes one look so integrated and one look so much like an after thought.

Thanks for the info. but that's not exactly what I meant. I want to have the LED in the reflector to be on when the car is on - to use them as daytime running lights (DRL) - so I wanted to know what wire I can tap into for that. If I tap into the parking lights then the LED will only turn on when the parking lights are on. If you know what wire I can tap into, that be great. Thanks!
I understand, but I don't know off the top of my head what circuits you might be able to tap into under the hood. If someone else doesn't chime in, grab a voltmeter and see what you can find in the fusebox near the battery. The fuse for the radiator fans is probably switched with the ignition, as I've never heard the fans running after the engine is off, and there may be others.
What did happen to that Red Nismo? I've been looking around trying to see how many Nismo's have gone FI, but I only know of that red one, mine, and the 370Z Nismo that I think GTM did.
edit: Oh yeah and that sponsored one that doesn't really look like a Nismo anymore
