For those still have their plates: Keep it inside a safety box!
Still no replacement plate for my NISMO Z. Jeff Schmitt Nissan shipped out my old plate (12/4/2013) more than 3 months ago.
I've contacted Craig Nangle, Nissan Consumer Affairs, Nissan Facebook, and my local dealer. Somewhere my old plate is on someone's desk at Nissan HQ.
Craig said it typically takes 4 weeks for a turnover. Nissan Consumer Affairs couldn't comprehend what a NISMO authenticity plate is but provided me a case #.
I did get a small update from my dealer on 3/4/14 that it was being resourced. However, he had multiple responses from various Nissan employees that it was being resourced....what does resource mean? how is it being resourced? Am I waiting on someone to step up and stamp out a plate in Japan? I understand that the 350Z plates have not been made in a while but really?
I should print flyers stating "Lost 350Z NISMO Plate #576 Reward $185, Last seen on 12/4/2013"

Update from Craig ---yay Bankruptcy
XYZ,
I haven’t been in that group for over two years. I have engaged the folks that can help resolve the issues, and they are working on it. The original part supplier has declared bankruptcy, which is the root cause of the delay. We understand the customers are frustrated and we are doing our best to resolve this situation as quickly as possible.

UPDATE: "We can replace 0576 with 1609 plate number"
Got an update from my local Nissan Parts guy. He got a call from Tim Freeman from Nissan that they are unable to reproduce a new plate for me.
They offered to send my old one back to my dealership and another plate #1609..
WTF!!!! really sending me another plate that is associated with another Z33 NISMO...
So if you guys really want a new plate....you're SOL

Btw - pogiboy - Manila, PH #1609
They wanted to send my old one #0576 along with #1609 to keep me happy. Nope I'm waiting for Craig Nangle to come back from vacation.

Not to be harsh, but I'm not sure it's Nissan's responsibility to replace the Nismo plate, whether it's damaged, or stolen, etc. The very nature of the car is that it's a limited production model. Of course, I'd be pissed, too, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
@Texas325, why not try to find someone experienced in metal polishing and try to have yours repaired?

Hmm.. I have mine protected using the cut to shape cell phone screen protectors.
I think a sheet was like 10-15 dollars, same material that the ZAAG screen protectors are made of.

I also talked to Craig back in Feb and he said that it's not typical for Nissan or the NISMO division to have such a delay in reproducing a plate (3 months delay).
As stated in previous post, Craig had stated that original supplier filed for bankruptcy. Responsibility or not, it was requested through official Nissan channels via bulletin and their local dealership to get a replacement. Jeff Schmitt Nissan took proper steps and I appreciate for their work on keeping me posted. However, Nissan has reluctantly played pass the "Hot Potato" around. "We are currently resourcing" Another guy said "We have an engraver in our Nissan garage, we can make one".
Yeah I'm bummed that there is probability that I won't have a new plate and for others who are in worse situation (missing plates). It's the fact that Nissan took 3 months to relay a message to their dealer "Sorry, we can't reproduce a plate, but we can send you #0576 back and a new plate number #1609" It's also the fact that Nissan is willing to give me a new plate number that is remotely tied to another VIN! ....Hmmm I guess there will be two #1609 driving around....

Usual problem with large company's, the byword being 'buck-passing'. Regardless of whether the Nismo is limited edition or not. $185, ouch that's just shy of being raped and I'm sure no matter how scratched a good experienced polisher could have used his magic to make a half decent repair for a tiny slice of what you had to pay. Still, glad you're finally sorted.

Update
KingBaby, I spoke to Chrystal at Nissan. She said that the supplier that filed bankruptcy also supplies the Z34 NISMO plates as well.
Nissan is currently looking for a new supplier to produce this plates for the Current NISMO generation.

You'll have to contact your Nissan dealer to talk to Nismo. By now, you think they have a new supplier, worst case they say no.
