Guys, this project was originally delayed because of bad weather but has more recently been delayed because I have not had time to swing by the guys place that is making the mold. I have been extremely busy as I have a wife, 2 year old son, and work nearly 100 hours a week running a multiple companies.

This is going to be finished as it's very important to my cars goals. I have already asked if my guy would be available next weekend to do the next fitment test and am currently waiting to hear back after he checks his schedule. If I had to give a final time line on this right now, I would say a month, then another couple weeks to make the final mold.

This guy makes his own custom diffusers on Zilvia for different cars. I've seen a few S2K guys make their own as well.

We have decided to do a complete undertray and splitter with this (broken in to 3 pieces) and it's in progress but it's going to be a few weeks. We also have to design two different diffusers going this route because the one for my car will not have openings for the exhaust in the rear. We are going to put the exhast out the side of the car giving us the most area possible for the diffuser, thus making it more effective. This portion is nearly complete.

Adding the opening for the exhaust on the diffuser will be one of the easier things to do..

Being that I have some free time now (I old one of my companies), I have the time to finish this car and get it back out to the track where it belongs.

You all are complicating things with the exhaust for no reason. End it at the differential and point it blowing over the fins and have a blown rear diffuser like Red Bull/Infiniti racing did in F1 last year and the year before that. FIA banned it because the other teams who also had them, sucked at life. http://www.formula1.com/news/features/2011/6/12186.html

Either way, we are kind of obligated to make a rear diffuser that way because Renault is our parent company and the FM platform is a Renault chassis.
What is a blown diffuser?
On road cars, the engine exhaust exits are normally located at the rear of the car. On a Formula One car they are deliberately located in front of the rear wheels so that the hot, fast flowing exhaust gases can be channelled towards the car’s rear diffuser. This increases airflow through the diffuser and in turn increases the amount of downforce the diffuser produces. This is perfectly legal under current F1 regulations.

What is an off-throttle blown diffuser?
Normally the engine will only produce exhaust gases when the driver is on the throttle. This means when the driver lifts off, the blown diffuser is suddenly robbed of the additional airflow. To get around this, some teams have modified their engine mapping so that when the driver lifts off, although fuel supply and ignition are cut, airflow through the exhaust - and hence to the diffuser -continues. This technique has become known as ‘cold blowing’ - the exhaust is still ‘blowing’ into the diffuser, but that airflow is now ‘cold’ since no fuel or ignition is involved.
