08 nismo
Soooo..... I recently bought a 08 Nismo in San Antonio. From A non-Nissan dealership. everything on the car looks authentic. However the serial number plate is MISSING.... The dealer assured me that the car is authentic and that he would pay for the replacement serial number plate. So I contacted a local Nissan dealer and they had me sign an affidavit of ownership and said they would order it for me! YAY!!! Well that was four months ago and still no plate... The Nissan dealer says that he hasn't had any luck getting a reply from Nissan! So I'm guessing it hasn't been ordered yet...WTF!!! I've been searching this forum trying to find ANY info on how I might be able to expedite this!!!! The vin is: JN1BZ34E48M752958 I found a thread that had some VIN's Listed for the last few cars built and sent to Guam. My VIN is after the last car produced for shipment to Guam... NOW I am truly concerned about the authenticity of the car I have. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Hate to tell you nut that is not a Nismo as it doesn't have the Nismo side skirts, These have two bulges down either side. Your interior should have red and black seats and various other parts including a square rear end, Nismo shocks, exhaust that define it from a normal 350Z. I'd get more proof of what it should have and threaten your dealer either with full return of purchase price or you'll see him in court.
Everything on the car is correct.... just missing the serial number plate... If its not a "REAL" Nismo then somebody spent a lot of money to make it look like one.... jus saying! Brakes, exhaust, interior, gauges and body kit are all correct for a Nismo...

One good tattle tale is the vin stickers on the individual body parts.
There should be a sticker on the front bumper, doors and hatch. This sticker should have same vin as the vin on your dash you see through the window.
One of the easiest ways to tell if it is
a) original
b) painted
c) using replacement parts.

Do I need to contact the factory in Japan ?????
So then the other Nissan dealer calls me and tells me that the "Plaque" is still available, But I would have to return my "OLD" one in order to get a "NEW" one..... there in lies the problem.....
Here I am 9 months later.... Called Nismo USA and talked to Scott... he had a conference call some time ago with Nissan about my delimna. Said he had ,"good" news....... Nissan is going to give me a new plaque w/o having to send in my (old) missing one. Went by my local dealer and filled out the paperwork. Parts guy emailed it off and sent a hard copy via FedEx ..... just a waiting game now! Quivering with anticipation!!!!!
