2007 Nismo #576
Hi!
I've been planning to get a second car, mainly a sports car, to supplement my craving for manually shifting a car. Currently driving a 2012 Murano SL AWD.
Test drove the 2007 350Z Nismo at the dealership twice (two separate days). Car has less than 15k miles and the dealer is offering me at 24,600 since I bought my Murano from them. No dents, dings, or damage to exterior. The engine and transmission are sounded. Interior looks great other than the driver plastic door piece (small peeling). This is one of the low mileage Z I can find.
Questions:
Do you think I can ask for lower pricing?
Pros and Cons on the Nismo Z over regular Z Grand Touring?
Any common issues I should aware of?
Is extended warranty worth it due to the previous questions? what about GAP Insurance?
Thanks for helping me! Trying to gather information and sit on it instead of impulse buying.
Trying to decide if I should buy it or just save up.

It's actually in Ohio where I'm stationed at. LOL. The dealer hasn't listed it since it was just traded-in this past Friday and they knew I was looking for a second car. It's white. Everything checks out. One of my co-worker did the second test drive to test out the electronics, engine, transmission, and alignment. We checked the body, original seals, welds and etc. Everything is cleared visually and mechanically. Car Fax says it's cleared but I don't trust that as it reports items that have been reported.
I'm just wondering why it has low mileage in the first place. I know that the previous owner was forced to trade it in by his mother since he was moving overseas. His family bought 5-6 cars from the same dealership. This car was his dad's or stepdad's car before his mother won it from the divorce.
Also, is it worth getting the extended warranty on it? Being that this car is out of warranty even though it has low miles.

nismos hold their value, but i would always shoot low and then work up. the nismo is going to have a stiffer ride than the GT. either way you will be happy. for comparison, i bought my 08 touring two and half years ago with 35k miles on it for 21k and they threw in extended warranty.... so i dont think 24 is all that bad. i would work the extended warranty into it for free

I think I did well. KBB said it's worth 30k with Nada saying 23,600 clean retail but dealerships don't use that

I will definitely post pictures as soon as it comes home after work. It's getting detailed today.
I also test drove the BRZ at Subaru before heading to the Nissan dealer.
Since when is the Nismo a 55k car? the dealer kept telling me that as he was trying to sway me away from the BRZ. Wasn't the MSRP around 38K?
I chose the Nismo over BRZ because of the price and actual value. The Nismo had already taken depreciation hit versus the BRZ was going to take a hit had I bought it new. Both were at the same OTD price point but the 350Z has a larger established community and has readily aftermarket parts for sale.

Congrats on the Nismo! Not that it matters at this point but the Grand Touring has those heated leather seats and the navi--old guys like me like heated seats. 15K is super low miles, heck my 2008 has only 29K on it--just under $23K seems reasonable considering the miles. The warranty seems a little expensive--is it bumper to bumper and for how long?
As for common issues IDK but my hatch locking mechanism and struts were replaced (they were rattling and the hatch would sometime take two/three release tries to open) and I just had to do the rear wheel bearings. BTW the hatch release problem still is an issue but it's easily something I can live with. You also might look at the front fascia where the plastic pieces direct the airflow into the engine compartment--very common to see cracks there (ref this post to see what I'm talking about https://my350z.com/forum/nismo-350z/...er-fascia.html). If it hasn't been done already you might consider taking a dremel to the fascia and trimming those plastic air guides back a bit.

Nice Nismo -same color comb as my 08.
sounds like the dealer did you a pretty good price
What did it come to OTD?
If it came with that nice aftermarket headunit that's a nice bonus too - is that a nav unit? If the prior owner replaced the headunit maybe he replaced the crappy stock speakers too - you should pop a panel and take a look.

That's one clean and tidy Z you've purchased, I wouldn't be worried about the low miles I'd just enjoy driving it and getting used to a stick. You should find it a more involved and enjoyable driving experience than an auto.
