I'm going to approach this differently, and probably not get good feedback lol, but "everyone's got their own opinoin." (And mine could be wrong.)
But, my honest impressions: 1 to 10
Tomei quality: 10
Tomei look: 10 (for single)
Sound: 5
I feel the overall sound of stock is a refined and sort of sleek exotic feel. Very original but also Porschilian (not a word lol) feel. (Porsche-like)
The tomei, to me, takes that sound and really just creates it into a "every-other" import exhaust sound. I don't want to say "ricer" - that would be off basis and ignorant. But, that's almost the feel to me. I just gives it a single pipe import feel, along with a less aggressive (again IMO) and more 4 cylinder single exhaust feel.
Again, just my honest observations.
I'll prefaced my comments by saying I know the quality of tomei and I love your Nismo and the quality of the exhaust you chose. Also should preface my comments by saying I'm at work and dont have my speakers on full volume, and I know that camera video NEVER does justice to how an actual car sounds in person. I could be completely wrong and would love to see and hear this thing in person.

2. Don't say that, "Porsche like" because Nissan diehard is going hate you for that, especially Nissan engineers. They don't like to be label as Porsche like when they are original.
3. To be honest, every single exhaust sound like that on a VQ, not just Tomei. When you run cat less and headers to open that exhaust flow, that VQ distinctive sound is gone.
4. You are definitely right about the sound on those two video clips below. They are insanely loud. Remember, those two cars are setup for track use, not daily driven.
1. That is pretty spot on from a perspective of the Authentic Nismo 350Z owner. You probably want to keep it original as possible to reserve the authenticity of the Nismo.

Well, Nissan's entire objective with the 350z was to compete with Porsche. I'm probably not remembering correctly but on the 350z initial release I remember Nissan beating that drum to death.

That was for the Nismo 380rs they were talking about. They wanted to compete in Group A, which is the highest category in that class of racing. They did beat the Porsche. When they tested it on the track vs the tough, the 380rs was a bit slower than expected compared to the GT3RS they were testing. I still think Nissan/Nismo could improve so much more. I have the Best Motoring 350z development video and didn't hear anything about it. The cool thing was how much more refined it was compared to a stock r34. Also, Mizuno talked about how the driving position was exactly the same as the Le Mans R33 GTR.
I hate to say that I disagree as well. The sound is definitely not a 5 lol. It has to be heard in person because most of the videos don't justify how it truly sounds. I know you understand that. Also, take into consideration how different cars have different upgrades and the sound varies. By no means is the Tomei single a "ricey" sound. The sound is much better and more exotic. I was surprised how quiet the stock exhaust was. It's good that you want to keep the stock appearance going, which is totally fine. I always thought I would keep this car stock forever. It's been 4 years since I actually changed something besides aesthetics. Cmon, we all know how a ricer car sounds.
Teddy, I'll get some more sound clips and I'm sure it'll change your mind.

I'm out of work now, I'm going to blast my higher quality audio system with this vid and see lolol
I'm sure it sounds sick in person. Like I said, video doesn't do car exhausts justice at all. I know my vids sound like butt!
What's up man. I got a super deal on it with free install @ Murica Motorsports located in Tempe. All my other work I go up at Nissan in Tempe off of Elliot. #1 GTR tech works there and has been taking care of me for two years since I got here. Most of my GTR buddies and new owners go to him even if it wasn't a Nissan. PM me if you need anything.
Update
Ordered the Zspeed Wilwood master cylinder and slave cylinder. Will update the condition of the original flywheel and clutch.
Update 2 (8/11/2014)
Since the trans is already coming out and getting a new one through warranty, I decided I won't take any chances with the old flywheel/clutch setup. Since the car is getting everything new, I might as well just do it once and do it right. I don't want to have the transmission dropped again if the oem clutch goes out. I opted for the South Bend Stage 2 daily kit paired with the steel flywheel as recommended by Joe from ZSpeed.
