Default Clean 08 350z Nismo. Should i buy?

I am looking at a 2008 350z Nismo and its priced at 15k. The carfax matches the car and it is a real nismo. It has 103k miles. just want to know what to look out for and any tips. and if its a good buy. thanks

Welcome and I'll offer the same advise on used cars: spend some money and get a independent Nissan tech to do a full assessment. Pricing sounds high, but check kbb and Edmunds for your area.

A Nissan tech that is not associated with the party selling the vehicle in question.

My opinion... Get it checked out. Don't bother with the Kbb value. It's cheap enough, that if it checks out and you like it... Get it. The 350Z Nismo is, IMO, the best Z. Better than the 370 Nismo.

Fightin' words!!

Nahhhhh, keedin'.... I loved both of my Neeeeezmos and while there are things that separate the two - plus/minus/in-between, I'd be hard pressed to go on record to say that one is better than the other.

The 33 is a bit more "raw" than the 34 but overall, either works!

But like you say, Cobra, "IMO".

My opinion is based on looks and the fact that I owned and loved my '06. As a dealer tech and prospective owner, I've driven many 370's. They just "feel" bigger, heavier and no where near as engaging... IMO.

Hoooboy..... here I go again....

Popular misconception.

Z34 is actually lighter by some 100#. Oh, and it's dimensionally smaller in every direction.

370Z benefits from higher use of aluminum and composites. In addition, owing to said materials, the 370Z is actually torsionally stiffer, making up for its heavier feel with overall handling that exceeds the Z33 out of the box.

Where the 370Z differs from the 350Z in its "feel" is partly due to the suspension having a revised - dare I say more "relaxed" - geometry and a slower steering ratio that gives the sensation that it feels heavier because it's not as "responsive" as a Z33. And in truth, it doesn't feel quite as athletic. However, due to the 370's higher torsional rigidity, pound for pound, turn for turn, the 370 is as capable a handler as the 350.

Both of my Nismos impressed me with their handling prowess and to choose one over the other or to call one "better" than the other would be pointless.

I will say this though, the Z33 Nismo is most certainly a more viscerally stimulating car with a need for paying attention greater than when in the Z34 Nismo. This is NOT to say the Z34N is any less demanding to drive as it isn't a luxo GT by any stretch, but it IS more isolated from its surroundings giving one the illusion that it's "softer".

Boy, did I get off on a tangent there.... Guess I'm a little "defensive" because my first "modern Z" was our Z34N and THEN I bought my '03 Z and the other two 33s (and 32 and 31.... Laff...) that followed. So I kinda came into the game and went "backwards".

Oh, I also can't stand the robo-rev matching. I hated having to turn it and traction control off every time I started the car. I prefer to rev match on my own.

Word. 100% agreement.

But in its defense, I tried it out a number of times and while I find anything that a car does where it thinks its smarter than me annoying, it actually works pretty well and for the too-many who don't have the practice or physical dexterity to heel n' toe, well, they shouldn't be driving that car in the first place. <Evil laugh inferred>

(That said , you can only IMAGINE how I feel about "autonomous cars"... don't get me started.)

Really going OT here... I'd like to have an autonomous car for daily slogging. My problem with them is that once they're proven to work, it's only a matter of time before the nanny state requires them.
