Default Nismo 370 Mods

I haven't taken delivery of the new Niz yet, but I'm already shopping the usual easy bolt on mods. Once its broken it a bit, I'm going with

Stillen Ultra Long Tube Dual Intake System
Berk HFC's
Rather than flashing the ecu, I'm looking at COBB's AccessPORT so I can fiddle with some things

Since the stock 370 owners are already seeing big improvements with exhaust, intakes & cats + retune, I'm expecting a bit less, since I'm pretty sure the Nismo's engine is the same as stock - it gets its bump in horsepower from the ecu tweak + Nismo exhaust. Edit: not to mention the red engine cover

I'm really curious if there's more (safe) power available in the tune.

Change the cats to HFC's. 10 to 15 hp gain over stock from what I've read. Your catback exhaust already has 90% of an aftermarket one so not much value in chaning it. Cold air intakes after that for another 10 HP. You will be looking at 365 to 370 at the crank at that point.

Anybody here have experience with Cobb Tuning? They have a reflash/ecu tuning module that is pretty affordable - $695 for the handheld ecu flasher with some base maps for the 370 (more coming I guess). With some additional software you can get down and dirty with just about any addressable mappings. I wonder if they'll be able to get at timing since we have VVEL now.

I'm planning on going with Cobb for the initial tweak after intakes & HFC's. I promise I'll do a base dyno before and after so we can see what I get out of it. And yes I'll post pics & video when the car arrives!

Cobb sucks. Go UPREV. There is a reason why most sell Cobbs stuff and go to UPREV afterwards.

Anybody know why Cobb would suck? I've read their forums - perhaps its their support issue, or delivering on new maps?

I will check out UpRev, thanks!

UPREV controls way more. Please search here as it has been discussed many times.

cobb was never popular with the z crowd.

Uprev has many happy customers though

I took Solo's advice and did a bit of searching. I found a ton of info on the UPRev/Cobb argument - especially over at the "other" Z forum.

What I learned is this:

A) The 370 is showing gains in the 18 hp range with bolt on mods like Stillen Gen III CAI, HFC's and Catback exhaust.
B) Anybody that is working with Cobb right now is not finding any perf improvement, and is waiting for some better maps for intake/HFC/Exhaust mods.
C) Anybody that is an UpRev/Osiris fan is just plain waiting.

Pretty interesting. I guess I won't make a choice at all for a while. Once Cobb gets maps out there, we'll hear from the guys camped on their doorstep. Likewise with the Osiris guys.

Just a FYI, they have had the maps for the 350Z's and they also did not make any power.

You could always go Technosquare.
