Question Earliest RPM NOS is Activated

For those of ya with nitrous - what's the earliest rpm range that anyone's activating their system? I'm about to install a Vortech & was thinking about setting my Maximizer up to start spraying a small shot ( say, at 2k rpms ) & phasing it back out near 3500 rpms ( when the Vortech really starts to build boost ). I've heard that U shouldn't spray below 2500 rpms ( stated on an Acura website ) but I know that in years past, racers used nitrous to minimize turbo lag & that's the same principle I'm seeking. Thanks!

I have mine come on @ 4k... AFTER the TQ load drops this is the best on point for the internals then off @ 6.1k as to not hit the rev limiter which cuts fuel to the injectors

The NX manual states nothing below 3000 and shut off 200rpm before the rev limiter

Hey Mean Gene,
since you already have the maximizer installed can you let us know/confirm the splice locations for the rpm/tps/o2
I got
tps is pin 50 and rpm from the #1 cylinder is pin 62 this at the ECU

don't know the 02 yet.

Also is splicing into just one cylinder sufficient for the rpm signal?
thanks!

Default Not Installed Yet

Tomcat - Actually, my Maximizer just came in today ( 1/12 ) so I won't get it installed until this weekend. I spoke with Jon @ NX & he told me that one cylinder would be OK for the rpms since the VQ has individual coil packs/cylinder. As far as the O2 goes, I'll be tapping into my AEM wideband & using the Maximizer to S/D the nitrous before the A/F becomes dangerously lean. My friend will be doing the wiring since he's a Gale Banks dealer & is very familiar with extensive wiring. I'll ask him to detail the installation & post up any helpful info we come up with.

Question

Dont mean to hijack the thread, But how much does the Maximizer cost? I've done my research and that is the only device I will use on my Z, seems to be the most efficient and safe.
thx

Thumbs up No Hijack!

6 - It cost me $678.60 shipped to my door. NX has them in stock right now so ya might want to jump soon. I agree that it's a terrific piece ( window switch; progressive feed, etc ). Gonna have to build me a short block to take advantage of all it's bells & whistles!!
