that is why each kit has it's own jets.

the nx jets, flow more nitrous, but i dont think its just the jets, i thought it was the actual calculation that nx uses vs. the calculations that nos uses!

i posted earlier in this topic about putting the 68/35 jets in and somebody said that was way to big of a shot??

i just found this site and its the same jetting i was gonna use!

http://home.ican.net/~jsetter/nitrous.html#jet

i made 231whp & 234trq on just motor, then used the jets sizes that a couple guys said were 150shot ( i got a 55N/30F) and made 302whp 356trq (a/f was really really rich low 10's) so we took the 30 out and installed a 26 and made 312whp and 360trq (a/f was 11-1), so thats only 81whp and 126ft lbs?? bottle pressure was 950psi

what do you think i should do, up the nitrous and try that, or change to a shark nozzle and use the nx jets???

That's overkill bro. If you retard timing at all, 2 degrees is all it would take for 100-125 shot. I think the stock ecu will pull timing if the motor knocks anyway.

it's not how you see it. its 2 degrees on a 75 shot. and every 25 another 2 degrees.
knock sensor detects detonation and pulls timing. but is completely different when you knock on a 125 shot than regular gas. if the timing is not retarded then the fuel is going to detonate early, before the cylinder comes up. is like hitting the cylinder with a hammer when is coming up.
really bad for your engine.

2 degrees for a 75 shot is the rule of thumb, yes - not disagreeing there. But that is not the rule of thumb with nitrous express. That is one of their better qualities. Check on there site and ask a few guys around here what they do. Pulling 6 degrees of timing is just too much for an NX kit on the Z. Performance would suffer noticably. Now if we're talkin NOS, ZEX, VENOM, etc....then yes, I could see where you are coming from. I'm not calling you out or anything, just clarifying. All this stuff is straight from the horses mouth. John Stewart - former employee/designer of NX products who lived here in Houston until he died a few years ago. Nice guy, loves to shoot the ****. If he is wrong, I don't know who is right! lol.

125 shot is too high to run on stock timing. sooner or later something its going to break. either today or a couple of years later.

I'd retard timing 2 degrees on 125 shot. but 75 or 100....I'd leave it alone.

I'm running a 53/31 NX setup with no electronic timing controls etc. I did go w/ 1 step colder NGK iridiums at the stock gap.

My best time has been a 13.02 @ 110.5 in a G35 Sedan.

i agree with a 110mph trap speed, he should see easy 12's all day. none the less, a pretty quick g.
Quadcam, did u add anything else to the nx kit, like a msd rpm window switch or anything like that?
what are we saying a 53/31 shot equates to? around or just over a 100 shot?

andrew (quadcam) doesnt come on these boards too often, i know he has a WOT switch but i dont think he has any thing else on there. he has the pretty basic setup up like mine, NX kit, bottle warmer, etc

yes that equates to 80 hp to the wheels, roughly a 100 shot...

hey guys.

I run a 52 N / 31 F NX jets.

Activation is on a WOT microswitch. I have the usuals......heater,purge, digital pressure gauge, and a remote opener.

My run was on stock sedan 18" goodyears. Unfortunately, that was my 1st nitrous run at the track. All other runs have resulted in big wheel hop followed by no clutch going into 2nd gear!!!
